Seven thousand dollars.

It was a lot just to cook and clean and take care of his needs.

I just had to ignore his arrogance and put up with it. It won't be for long, right?

I tossed around on my bed as I tried to sleep that night.

The thought of my conversation with my boss kept popping into my mind and distracting me from sleep.

Not that I had slept before.

I stood up from bed and went to the kitchen where I poured a glass of water for myself and I turned to Kyle when he walked in.

"Kyle, what is the matter?"

He climbed into my arms and hugged me.

"A nightmare?" I asked and he nodded.

"Sorry, let's go to sleep. It's still early."

I carried him to my bed where I patted him to sleep, and I picked up my laptop when he was back to sleep peacefully.
