When Lowena got off the private jet, the fresh Irish air filled her lungs as she walked over to the only car at the airport, an antique truck, where a young man, not much older than her, was waiting.

"Lowena? Lowena Morningstar?" the young man asked, his voice more profound for the appearance of his age.

  "Y-yes?" she hesitated.

  "Get in," he commanded.

  "Excuse me-"

"I'm a friend of your uncle's," he interrupted. "I've lived with and worked for him for a long time."

  "How long?" Lowena questioned.

"You don't trust me?" he winked.

She briefly glanced at him. He was handsome. His short, wavy locks of hair fell effortlessly around his sharp, well-chiseled face, and his small amount of facial hair prevented him from looking as young as he was. When he exited the truck and took my luggage from my grasp, he towered over her; he had to be well over six feet, closer to seven.

"What's my Uncle's name?" she interrogated, folding her arms.

  "Eli," he bluntly replied.

Silently, she stood there. Should she trust him?

"Aren't you going to tell me your name? You know mine?" she sneered.

"Kieran," he gritted, walking over to the passenger door of the truck and pulling it open, "Now get your sexy ass in the truck."

She was uncertain what compelled her to listen to him, but she did. It was an uncomfortable hour's drive to her family's home. It was a massive castle, so beautiful. She'd never known where, but they'd always told her it was old money they were born into, as was she.

Lowena's parents passed away in a car accident about a month ago. Even though she was twenty and able to live independently, her aunt and Uncle insisted she come live with them. She couldn't find a reason to refuse. It had been so lonely and quiet in her big family home lately that she decided it was best to stay with them.

"Your uncle and aunt are away on business," Kieran said while pulling her luggage from the truck bed.

"For how long?" Lowena whimpered and reluctantly followed after him.

"Don't worry, we'll take care of you in their absence," he reassured.

  "We?" she repeated.

Following Kieran inside her Uncle's estate, several boys lounged around watching television.

"Everyone! This is Lowena," Kieran announced. "She's Eli's niece. Whatever she needs, you do for her, understand?"

All the boys stood up in greeting, huddling together like a pack of wolves. They were beautiful in their dirty ways.

"You're beautiful," the handsome young blue-eyed boy greeted, kissing Lowena's hand.

Kieran grabbed the blond's wrist and jerked it away from me. "Don't touch her; you know the rules."

  "Rules?" she giggled.

Kieran glared at the boy before turning back to me. "Your uncle wanted you to feel safe."

Before she could respond, Kieran walked up the long flight of stairs.

"It was nice meeting all of you," she smiled before chasing after Kieran. "Do you have to be so rude?"

Kieran never replied; his boots on the stone floors echoed against the walls. When he went through a set of double doors and tossed her luggage on the grand bed, she realized he was bringing her to where she'd be staying.

"You'll be sleeping here," he grumbled. "We work a lot, so I hope you can fend for yourself.

She folded her arms. "I can't do that?"

"You're a rich young woman," he huffed before leaving my room.

"Hey, asshole!" she hollered after him.

When he turned, Lowena swore she saw glowing golden eyes. It must have been a trick of the light because when she blinked, they were the black they had always been.

"Asshole?" he repeated before marching up to me.

Her muscles stiffened upon his approach. She tried to hold her ground, but something about his presence was overbearing. Lowena looked up at him. He was so much taller than she was, making him even more domineering.

"Asshole?" he growled, "After I picked you up from the airport, brought you home, carried your luggage up to your room, and ensured your safety, all you have to say is, asshole?"

She opened her mouth, but no words came out. She could only drop my head in submission like she had done something wrong.

He took a step closer, closing the gap between them both. Lowena felt his hot breath on her cold flesh. Her heart began to quicken in her chest, and excitement filled her body.

"Why don't you try something nicer?" he suggested.

His massive hand caressed her tiny cheek. Her body broke out in a sweat she had never felt before. An ache, a yearning, was growing deep within her.

  "Th-thank you," she mustered.

"Good girl," he rewarded me with a peck on my cheek before walking away.

Lowena felt herself gasping for air as if something was trying to rob her of it. Kieran's attitude made him repulsive, but his words and face made him irresistible.

The sound of wood being chopped apart, with boys obnoxiously shouting and hollering at one another, woke Lowena at dawn. "Lowena?" a female's voice called with a gentle knock on the door. "C-come in," Lowena croaked, her throat dry from the burning fireplace. A stunning young girl came into the room. With her flawless copper skin, long midnight-black hair, and perfect smile, the sight of her made Myrna jealous. She was beautiful and held a bundle of clean white towels. "Hi, I'm Aiyana," she introduced. I'm sorry if you wanted to shower last night; we just finished the laundry." "It's okay," Lowena replied. "How, how?" "Did I come to live here?" Aiyana finished. "Yes, sorry not to be intrusive," Lowena deviated. "I always came up to visit and never saw any of you. It was only my aunt and uncle; now there's nine of you from the looks of it-" "Twelve," she corrected. "There are others you've yet to meet." "Wow," Lowena gasped in shock. She thought her uncle and aunt did

Lowena stood there panting, her damp chest glistening in the moonlight from the run. She ran the entire way back to the house. For some reason, it felt freeing; it calmed her and relaxed her mind. "There you are," Cade beamed upon approaching. He held a full plate of food within his grasp. " Are you hungry? I made you some dinner." "You made this for me?" Lowena questioned, "Why?" "Do I need a reason?" he debated. "Sorry," she apologized, "I'm not sure why I'm so aggravated." "Probably hungry." he gestured to a plate of the biggest T-bone steak Lowena had ever seen, along with a hefty size of mashed potatoes smothered in thick beef gravy. Lowena took the plate with a smile. "Thank you." "Come on," Cade smiled, guiding her to a massive stone gazebo in the backyard. "Wow," Lowena gasped. The gazebo was more significant than most, almost the size of a bedroom. A wide stone bench was connected to the wall, and a fireplace with a roaring fire inside was on the opposite

"W-what's going on?" Lowena stammered. "We need to get you ready for tonight's celebration!" Aiyana eagerly helped Lowena get dressed. "This looks ridiculous," Lowena chuckled. "A fox-fur bikini with this weird wolf headdress?" "It's tradition," Aiyana reminded. "I love yours. The midnight black fur matches your hair; it's stunning," Lowena gawked. "It's a red wolf fur you're wearing, not a fox," Aiyana corrected. "Really?" Lowena huffed, "I've never seen a red wolf." "They are rare and need to be celebrated," Aiyana said while finishing Lowena's makeup. "I look like some tribal woman," I groaned. "It's-" "Tradition," Lowena said in unison with Aiyana. "I know," she sighed. "I still don't believe in any of this, but if this is what he needs, then so be it." "You still don't believe?" Aiyana shivered. "How? None of them have shown you yet?" "Shown me what?" Lowena asked. "Wow, you look so much like your mother," Eli commented, standing in the doorway. Lowe

Eli pulled Lowena from the two girls. "What are you doing?" Lowena looked back, and the two girls stood there with their arms folded, their faces expressions of annoyance. "I was just dancing," Lowena defended. "Just dancing?" Eli chuckled, "Lowena, they're vampires." Lowena looked back at the girls. Her mouth opened, but no sound came out. The two girls rolled their eyes and began seductively dancing with one another once more. "They have an allure about them; we all do; it's intoxicating even to us," Eli explained. "You expect me to believe this?" she questioned. Eli gently guided her to the next group of people dancing more effortlessly, fair-like, and beautiful. One girl had emerald green scaly skin with yellow cat-like eyes, and another looked like the waves of the water, different shades of blue and white from her dress to her hair. "Nymphs," Eli explained, "They all have different strengths. Like Bashira, she's a snake type; Allura, she controls water elements

Cade seized Lowena's wrist, pulling her away from Derrick, "You know better, dead man." "Lowena asked for a drink," Derrick chuckled, "I couldn't tell the girl no." Cade growls like a wolf, baring his teeth like one. "Now, boys," Eli interrupted, "Let's not disturb this lovely night." Cade looked at Lowena, his hand still firmly on her wrist, "Come drink with your kind." Before Lowena could respond, Cade adjusted his hand so both their fingers interlocked and pulled her to a bonfire far from Derrick. Cade's grip wasn't as tender and gentle as before; now, it was firm and dominant. Lowena felt she had no choice but to follow. "Why did you call him a dead man?" Lowena questioned. "Lowena!" Cade sighed frustratedly, passionately grabbing Lowena before looking back down at her. "You need to start believing in what you are." Cade started walking again with a frustrated growl. "Lowena? Lowena?" Eli rolled Lowena on her back, exposing her red, flushed cheeks and damp chest spilling from her top. "Did he do something?" he asked. "No," she denied, "I just feel strange." Another silent tear fell down her cheek. She felt afraid, nervous, and excited all at once. She had never experienced so many uncontrollable emotions. "It'll stop; the pheromones are leaving," Eli hushed while caressing her clammy cheek. Instinct caused Lowena to lean into his touch, "Everything is on fire." Lowena sat up, eyes glossy, looking at Eli for comfort. "It'll stop," Eli said, pressing his forehead to hers, his hand still holding her cheek. "Just breathe, Lowena." "Mmm," she whimpered once more, the heat within her body overwhelming her. Lowena grabbed his hand from her cheek and moved it to her breasts. "Good morning," Kieran greeted with a tray of food. It wasn't a good morning for Lowena, though. She wasn't burning up like last night, but her body was still physically frustrated. Something she felt she needed deep within her, something different, but she couldn't pinpoint what. She removed her bikini and put on one of Kieran's oversized shirts to sleep in. The summer heat wasn't helping calm her nerves either. "Why are you bringing me food?" Lowena defiantly folded her arms across her chest. Kieran ran his free hand through his hair before placing the tray on the bed. "Eli wanted me to apologize." "Apologize for what?" she sneered. Kieran approached her, causing her cheeks to blush and look away from his dominating gaze. She remained still on the bed. "You know what." Caspian went down between Lowena's splayed legs and licked her most intimate area. Lowena's hands grabbed at the sheet, slicing and tearing into it with her werewolf strength. Wherever his tongue went, she couldn't help but match his rhythm. Her body wanted him, ached for him. She had never felt such desires before. Caspian sneakily slid his fingers inside her tight body, her legs wrapped around his neck. He placed his other hand upon her abdomen in the hope of easing the heat within her. Absorbing it wouldn't be the best idea, but she needed to remain a virgin until her birthday. The way her insides wrapped around his fingers made his erection grow; slowly, he felt the tension in her body ease. "Fuck!" Lowena moaned. Lowena felt a familiar, enticing burn that began to build deep inside her. The warmth of Caspian's hand seemed to aid in its build-up as she felt herself climax faster than she ever had before. Caspian pulled back from Lowena, resisting his urge to devour her v

"I'll take you back," Kage offered. "Why don't I, since you brought her out here in the first place?" Caspian reasoned. "Why don't you both walk back with me?" Lowena suggested. Kage and Caspian scoffed, refusing to answer. Instead, they folded their arms over their chests, acting like sad schoolboys. "Fine, you stay here; I'll walk back alone," Lowena sighed over their antics. Kage and Caspian shook their heads, pacing between each other and watching Lowena walk away. At the same time, they both rushed after her, escorting her back to the party. After an awkward, short walk, they were all surrounded by happily drunk people. Ethica boldly approached the three of them, firmly holding her chalice. Lowena's cheeks blushed red, remembering the kiss they shared the night before. "Lowena, there you are," Ethica greete. Lowena stomped down the stairs, out the double doors, and into the celebration. At this point, she didn't want anything to do with either of them. Now wasn't the time for her to act rationally; it was time she stepped out of her shell. The loud drums echoed in her mind as she approached one of the bonfires. The heat from the flames wasn't scorching but relaxing, controlled even. "There you are," a seductive young woman whispered in Lowena's ear. Lowena turned, eyes widening in surprise to see the two women she had danced with the previous night before her once more, offering the bat chalice. She gladly accepted, drinking a mouthful of the thick copper liquid. It warmed every inch as it crept down her stomach. Lowena licked her lips, hungry, before looking back at both the girls. "What are your names?" Lowena asked. "Celeste," the shorter woman introduced. "Lucinda," the taller, slender one greeted. "I'm Lowena." The girls didn't respond but drank from the chalic

Lowena walked back with Caspian, the rain easing til the sun came out to play. "It's amazing how you can do that," she admired. "It is mother nature; us fairies are bound to her in one way or another. Many are known to you as mythical creatures, such as the phoenix, griffins, and sirens. You may have seen them at the celebration last night," he explained. Lowena's cheeks blushed, and she confirmed, "There were these two women I first met; they looked almost like bats." "Those are the vampires. They have the most allure to them; they are the most predatorial. Their beauty enchants you, draws you in under their spell, and makes killing easy. They release a venom, similar to snakes than bats, that relaxes the prey, a euphoric opium if you will. "Wow," she hushed, "And the girls in the bird-like costumes? The ones that had scales?" Caspian chuckled, astonished by her curiosity, "You have your serpents, nymphs, mermaids. All can be fairies or witches; it depends on whether th
