Melody was anxiously waiting for the following day. She was super excited to be leaving home for a while. She was tired of staying in Chicago because the place reminded her of the betrayal she had suffered just before the end of the junior school year.

“Come in,” Melody answered without looking, after hearing a knock on the door. It was her father, Hector Perry.  Melody and Hector were very close, given the fact that their family only consisted of the two of them.

“Am letting you go because you have insisted so much. Otherwise, I am so afraid of letting you out of my sight.” Hector said.

Melody got up from her bed and went to stand next to her dad.

“I know, father. Please let me do this. I feel suffocated after what Mark did to me. I can't believe he would betray our trust like that,” Melody said unhappily.
