Jonathan doesn’t know how long he stayed at the restaurant looking at Betty’s receding figure. He couldn’t believe that he had been too naïve to believe that things could really work out between them. Since their last breakup, Jonathan had refused the flirting of any girl in school because he still felt somewhere that Betty was the one for him.

After today, he didn't know who to blame. Was it him for being blind in love? Was it Betty for not loving him back? Or was it Nathan and Monica who was Betty's friends and had played matchmaker?

As he was wallowing in self-pity, he received a call from Natalie asking when he would be back home.

Am on my way. He replied before calling the waiter to pay his bill and left for home. He regretted paying for Betty's meal as well, but he knew there was no way he would be allowed to leave without settling the whole bill. He had not even asked Natalie why she wanted to know about the time he would be getting
