Chance’s POV It took us what felt like forever for us to make it to the location that Damon had pointed out on the map. The opening of the cave was well hidden but thankfully with my wolf’s sight and smell, I was able to find it hidden behind a large pile of brush. As we began to remove the brush from the opening of the cave that was purposely placed there to hide the entrance, I noticed fresh footprints in the ground and knew that someone had been here recently. Pointing to the fresh footprints, the other Alphas went on high alert knowing that we might have company. We had a handful of my men with us and I told them to spread out and keep watch as Alpha Reese and Alpha Conner followed me into the cave. As we made our way into the cave the smell of sulfur filled my nose and I wonder if this cave was attached to an old mine that used to run through the mountain range. The further we moved into the cave the darker it got as the light from the opening began to dim away and I called upon
Chance’s POV Thankfully the return to where we started was much faster than when we were searching for the cave entrance. Alpha Reese couldn’t wait to get back to Red Moon to assure himself that Luna Rayne was okay and I was also worried about Willow and our pup she was carrying. There were many phone calls to be made and a meeting with Alpha Hunter needed to happen as soon as we returned. The Witch that we encountered at the cave at least provided us with a way to bring down the Moon Witch, but she didn’t get us any closer to finding Beta Shawn and I knew Willow would be disappointed. I can only hope that when we corner the Moon Witch with Christopher, and the Sun Witches that Alpha Reese knows that she will give up Beta Shawn’s location before she meets her death. As we get closer to the packhouse we begin to notice that something was off and Alpha Conner yells for us to stop the SUV. Pulling off the side of the road, he quickly jumps out of the vehicle and heads into the wood
Willow’s POV Once I was able to calm myself and my heart quit beating a mile a minute, I began to look around the area at my surroundings and remembered seeing a small opening to what looked like a cave last time I was here. I knew there was no way that I was going to be able to go back through the waterfall anytime soon since there were probably more than a dozen wolves looking for me and I needed to get to dry ground. Moving my way slowly up the slick rocks within the waterfall, I carefully pull my way up onto dry ground. It got darker the further I climbed and with my magic I called upon light, that began to luminate the area, I was moving towards. Once I made it to the flat area I relaxed for a minute as I took in my surroundings. Beta Shawn told me this was his secret place and I had to wonder if anyone else knew about this place once I saw footprints in the dirt that led into the cave area. I had two choices at that moment, and it was either go back through the waterfall a
Chance’s Pov It felt like there was an endless number of men protecting Alpha Hunter and I wondered how we hadn’t gotten to him by now, but then I realize it’s not just my men we were fighting. Somehow the rogue men had joined him here at Red Moon and they continued to multiply by the minute, not allowing us to get to him. Looking over at Damon, I ask, “Isn’t there anyway you can control your men?” “You don’t think I already tried that?” He says back to me, and I know he probably already did just like I had but nothing seemed to work as they were now under Alpha Hunter’s control or should I say the Moon Witch’s control. So much time has passed now and I wondered when Alpha Caleb’s reinforcement was going to get here as every muscle in my body was beginning to kill me and I could see that I wasn’t the only one beginning to tire. Damon and Alpha Reese were both showing signs too and I didn’t know how much longer we could continue at this pace. Christopher and Sal were fighting t
Chance’s POV Leaping off the deck, I charged towards Alpha Hunter as I could see the circle of Sun Witches breaking and I knew their circle of magic was compromised. Damon was right behind me and Alpha Reese began to charge from the other side along with Alpha Caleb. Alpha Reese was the first to get to Christopher and he placed himself in front of him blocking Alpha Hunter as Alpha Caleb rammed into the side of Alpha Hunter trying to push him out of the path towards Christopher, but he only bounced off him, sending Alpha Caleb flying backwards. There had to be some kind of force field around Alpha Hunter to cause Alpha Caleb to be thrown with so much force back. Maybe if Damon and I attacked him at the same time it might make a break in whatever it was that was surrounding him. As if Damon could see exactly what I was seeing he caught up to my side and gave me a look of acknowledgement and we charged together towards Alpha Hunter. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Beta Ethan
Willow’s POV Alpha Chance, Alpha Shawn, Damon, and I hopped into an SUV together to head to Crescent Moon. To say I was feeling a bit awkward by the three men being all together in a SUV with me was an understatement. The three of them chatted as if they were all now friends and I had to wonder what happened in my absence to change the dynamic between the three of them. On the way to Cresent Moon we stopped at the diner and Damon ran inside to retrieve Izzy from his Aunt Connie. Alpha Shawn was not aware of the union between the two of them and I wondered how he was going to take the news when Damon emerges with her from the diner, but that will have to wait because Alpha Chance now turns from the driver seat to look at Alpha Shawn and I in the back seat and I could tell he had his own set of questions for us. “Shawn where were you all this time?” Alpha Chance asks him and I can see that he was wanting to talk as friends leaving the formalities out since it was just the three of
Willow’s POV The rest of the ride to Crescent Moon was, to say the least, an interesting one. Damon was forced to the front seat by Alpha Shawn, who sat in the back seat between Izzy and I as Alpha Chance continued to drive. I could tell that Alpha Chance wanted Alpha Shawn to drive while he sat in the back with me, but he also knew that after Alpha Shawn had kicked Damon from the back seat that it wasn’t a good idea for the two of them to be in the front seat together. Izzy had her work cut out for her in convincing her brother to accept her mate. I honestly think Alpha Shawn would have reacted this way whether it would have been Damon or someone else. It was crazy how protective he was of her but I honestly didn’t know what may have happened to cause this. Finally, we made it to Crescent Moon and the ride felt like it had taken forever even though it was only an hour or so from the diner. As we all made our way out of the SUV, I made sure to keep ahold of Alpha Shawn’s hand so
Willow’s POV It didn’t take long for the three of us to find Alpha Caleb and our mates. They had finished securing the boarders and were gathering in front of the packhouse. I was happy to see that Damon was still alive and that Alpha Shawn hadn’t killed him, but right now that was the least of my problems as I needed to know if there was any truth to the words that Luna Ella had just spoke to me about. Alpha Shawn was the first to notice something wasn’t right and he came running to me. Ever since the day that we met he was always the one to notice the difference in my emotions and I chalk that up to the fact that we were both in a bad place when I first got to Red Moon. “What is wrong?” He asks me and I didn’t know how to explain to him what was going on, so I just said to him, “I need to speak to Alpha Caleb.” Alpha Caleb heard me say his name and he rushed to me concerned about Luna Ella. “Is Luna Ella, okay?” He asked with concern and I could see that he looked so worn out
