I met up with Ella.

Even with all the trouble at Kingsley Company, she was glowing, not a care in the world. I was unsure if Calvin still took care of her or if she had found herself a new guy on the side.

I asked her, "Ms. Rogers, are you still planning to be Mrs. Lawson?"

Without Calvin around, Ella did not bother with her usual act. She just laughed and said, "Sure, Ms. Campbell. You know the score, so why should I hide it? Mr. Lawson's my golden ticket, and I'm not letting go."

I could not help but wonder what Calvin would think if he knew how Ella saw him.

I did not argue with her. I just said, "You probably know a bit about Kingsley Company. I can do a lot more than you think. You've got some of Calvin's stuff. If you marry him, you'll have to share it all with him—including his debts."

Ella stopped smiling. I could tell she was thinking hard.

"Ever seen the movie Titanic, Ms. Rogers?" I asked.

"What's your point?" she asked, frowning.
