Calvin thought he had me all figured out, but his smugness gave me the chance I needed.

Ever since I found out about Ella, I had been extra careful. I had even moved some of our shared money to a safe place without him knowing.

That weekend, I went back to my parents' house. We chatted about Jorhythm Company, the business we started together years ago.

Jorhythm Company was a competitor of Kingsley Company, though it was smaller in scale. However, it had taken a different approach with its product line and market positioning. Given the market conditions at the time, its growth potential was significant.

My mom looked worried when she asked, "Won't you be too busy if you run Jorhythm Company?"

I shook my head. I did not want to burden her with my problems or talk about Calvin and his nonsense. "I believe in Jorhythm," I told her. "I'm going to focus on that from now on. You believe in me, right?"
