So, this is Matthew’s mom, I thought to myself with surprise.

I watched as Matthew walked towards Ali’s room, leaving his mother and I in the living room. Matthew’s mother smiled at me and walked towards me. She than plopped down on the couch, sitting beside me. She did not look sad at all, from doing what she did. She looked like a sweet woman. Looking at her, I could see the resemblance between her and Matthew.

She stuck out her hand to introduce herself “Hello! My name is Maria.”

I smiled and shook her hand “Hi Mrs. Day, my name is Dillion.”

She waved her hand, “Please call me Maria,” Then noticed my leg wrapped in the cast, and asked “May I ask what happened to your leg?”
