“Okay, now put this back on,” I said to Ali as I handed her back the black tie.

She sighed and raised her eyebrow “Is this really necessary? I mean, I already know we are going to see your mother.”

I laughed “I was just kidding Ali.”

Her mouth formed into an ‘O’ and she nodded her head. Then grabbed the black tie and tied it around her eyes. Thankfully this time, she did not ask any questions and instead stayed quiet and patient. I scooted her beside me, interlacing my hands with hers. I saw her lips form a smile and I could not help but smile with her. Every time I put I a smile on her face, it puts a smile on mine.
