Chapter 15

Once we got back to Lyall's room we went and laid on his bed and cuddled.

"I like being in your arms, it makes me feel safe and at home."

"Good, thats how you should feel at all times with me. I never want you to fear me or feel unsafe. If you do please then I am failing as your mate."

"You don't scared me....Okay maybe a little at first but I had never seen you that way before so I wasn't sure what to expect."

"I'm still very sorry for that. I never want you to see that side of me. I don't like being that."

"Lyall, that side of you is part of you whether you like it or not. Everyone has a mean side to them, you just right now can't control it. I plan to help you with that. As your mate it's my job to help you overcome things you can't on your own. I'm your rock, together we will get your dark side under control."

"What if I hurt you though? I could never forgive myself."

"I'm a lot tougher than I look." I laughed. "It's not going to be easy or an over night process but I have trust in the Moon Goddess that together we can get your Dark Wolf under control."

"You're so pure hearted my love. I don't know how my dark heart was ever blessed to have someone like you as my mate."

I tensed up at what he just said, " What did you just say?!"

"That you were pure hearted? Why?"

"Nothing, it's just in my dream that I told you about when I took a nap yesterday there was something about a pure hearted wolf and a dark hearted wolf. Just crazy coincidence."

I was starting to think that the dream really wasn't just a dream like the Moon Goddess said. It's just crazy how she came to me to show me the path I would be going down. More than ever I was determined to fulfill the path the Moon Goddess had set me on. I was going to break this curse and live my life the way I should with Lyall.

“Yeah that is a crazy coincidence.” Lyall laughed.

The next morning Lyall had some work to do so I went to go find Raven and Wyatt so we could do some training. It’s been over a week since I last had a training session and I needed to get back on schedule. I couldn’t get ahold of them so I went to the training grounds alone. When I got there they were already there and training.

“Thanks for the invite guys.” I pouted.

“Sorry we know you’ve been busy with Lyall.” Raven said through grunts.

“Yeah but you guys are still my best friends. Just because I found my mate doesn’t mean I don’t wanna spend time with you guys anymore. Especially since I will be leaving soon, I want to spend as much time with you both as I can.”

“You’re right. We’re sorry Azura.” Raven replied.

“It’s whatever. Ima go find someone to train with. See you guys around.”

I was upset with them and had to make it known. I walked around the training field to see who needed a partner to train with. The only person who was waiting for a partner was Ayala.

“Great. Just my luck.” I said to myself.

I walked over to Ayala and asked, “Need a partner?”

She got all excited but when she saw it was me she tensed up.

“Don’t worry I’m not going to take my anger out on you while training. I need this just as much as you do. We all need to know how to properly fight just in case.”

Ayala hesitated for a second but then nodded, “Okay let’s go.”

We walked over to an open mat and started practicing. Ayala struggled to keep up. She definitely needed some help on her fighting techniques.

“Did you ever train in your last pack?” I asked her.

“Not really. I didn’t find it necessary for me to know how to fight.”

“Everyone should learn how to defend themselves. What happens if you were out somewhere and rogues attacked?”

She put her head down, “I never thought of that.”

“Well, here you can train and learn. You don’t have to get as good as a guard but at least you’ll be able to defend yourself in case something happens.”

We trained for a few more hours before calling it a day.

“I’ll mention it to Jeremiah that you’ll need some more training. He can find you someone to train with on a regular basis.”

“Thanks that would be helpful.” She smiled at me before walking away.

I quickly linked my father letting him know that Jeremiah needed to find someone to help Ayala train as often as she needed it. Once I did that I started heading back so I could freshen up. I was still pretty upset that my friends haven’t tried to hang out with me. Especially since I saw what happened in the library, they were supposed to be helping me break this curse. All they were doing was pushing me away, I didn’t understand any of this.

Once I got back to the pack house I went straight to my room to shower and change. I linked Lyall to see how much more work her had left but he had turned out link off. That didn’t help the fact I was already upset.

*what is it push Azura away day?!* I thought to myself and I jumped into the shower.

Once I was done I quickly dried off and put some clothes on. I was about to head down stairs when all of a sudden I felt anger. I knew something was wrong with Lyall and he wasn’t happy so I rushed to go find him. I got to his room and he wasn’t there. I started to panic as I felt his anger getting worse.

I linked my father.

*Where is Lyall?!*

No response.

I linked my mother.

*Where is Lyall?!*

*Azura hurry honey! Someone has come to try and take you from your mate. He says that Lyall doesn’t deserve you. Your father is struggling to keep Lyall back! We’re by the front gate.*

I ran as fast as I could to the front gate. My father and a bunch of our guards were trying to hold back Lyall. Jay Lewis, an old crush of mine from middle school, was standing on there smirking. When he saw me run up his smile grew.

“Azura! My love I have come to save you from this beast. Let me take you away and keep you safe from his death curse.” Jay yelled to me.

Lyall got even more furious and got out of everyone’s grip and went running towards Jay.

“STOP!” I yelled with such authority that everyone stopped and got down on a knee and bent their head to me except Lyall. He just stopped and turned to look at me. Breathing heavily.

I looked at everyone in shock. I had no idea why they were doing that.

“Lyall, my love, please come here.” He started walking towards me. Once he was near me I ran and hugged him tightly.

“Calm down. It’s okay. I am yours and you are min. No one is going to take me from you.”

I felt his anger start to come down.

“This idiot wants you as his. He doesn’t deserve to live anymore.” He angrily said.

“Killing him isn’t going to get you anywhere. We can’t go back to your old ways okay? We are trying to change you for the good. Please let me handle this.” I kissed his forward before turning towards everyone else.

They were all still kneeling and had their heads bent to me.

“You all can stand now.”

Slowly everyone stood up one by one. Looking around and then back at me in shock.

“Someone PLEASE tell me what is going on here?!”

My father stepped towards me still in shock.

“Jay Lewis has come to claim you as his. He has declared his love for you and wants to fight for your love.”

I looked over at Jay in disgust.

*Lyall my love please stay calm and do NOT do anything for what I am about to say, you hear me?* I linked.

*May I please hold onto you then?*

*Yes and if you think about doing anything pray to Moon Goddess that I don’t hurt you too much*

I felt his laugh against my back.

“Jay is this true? You’ve come to declare your love for me?” I asked him.

“It is true Azura. I have loved you for years and I cannot stand that you are with that beast! You deserve better!” He yelled.

“Watch your tongue or I will cut it out!” I yelled back.

Jay took a step back and bowed his head to me.

“Years I had a crush on you and not ONCE did you ever give me a second of your time Jay! Now you are trying to tell me you like me? I call bullshit.”

He looked up at me with wide eyes. “This is not true! I have always tried to show you how much I cared and loved you.”

“You’re a horrible liar Jay. You were always chasing after Ayala!” I laughed. “What’s your REAL reason you’re here? Have you also heard about the prophecy?”

My father looked at me, “You know about the prophecy?!”
