THIRD PERSON’S POV.A bright smile curled up his lips the second he pulled the door open for his eyes to land on her. He had come back to meet the house empty with no traces or signs of her. He had gotten slightly worried about where she had gone and tried her number, but it wasn’t reachable. He was glad that she was back.He was tempted to ask her where she had gone, but instead, he didn't. He had more things to bother about, plus he had a piece of great news.He watched her eyes land on the blonde in a Black suit on the couch just behind his back. Her name was Janet, and she was the one who had come to tell him of the news.Thoughts ran through Aurora’s mind.Who was she? Why was she here? What did she want? She wondered. Thoughts of her being his woman slipped into her mind, and she pushed them aside because he wasn't the type to do relationships.“Come on in,” he said and stepped away from the door to let her walk in. “Aurora, meet Janet. Janet, meet Aurora, my best friend.” He in
AURORA’S POV.Just like he had said, I had gotten back to my room to pack my things like panties, some bras, clothes and the things I knew I might need. However, I could barely sleep all night as I stared at the ceiling and turned in bed countless times. I was so uncomfortable, but I had no idea if it was due to the baby or just normal.I had made sure to dispose of the test strip well so he wouldn't find it anytime.I woke up the next morning to the sound of the chirping birds. I couldn't remember when I had dozed off last night, but my body felt sore. I was weak and tired. I was also a bit cold. However, I didn't let this stop me as I dragged myself sluggishly out of bed and headed straight for the restroom. I could clearly remember him telling me of the flight being in the morning, something about 9 am.The time was just 7, but I wanted to be on the safer side. My eyes felt sleepy, and I doubted I had spent more than three hours in bed last night.Maybe I would catch up on that on
AURORA’S POV.We had gotten to the airport just in time to sort everything out before we boarded the plane. He asked me to sit while he went with our items of luggage to do whatever it was they did with it.This was my first time being here and coming into an airport. First time boarding a plane. It made me nervous, so nervous that I felt like I might pass out from it. The other part of me was excited, though, to experience this whole new thing.“Be careful, honey.” I heard an unfamiliar masculine voice say, and I turned around to look his way, only for my eyes to land on a middle-aged man in his fifties, holding onto his wife, who looked a bit younger than him.She was dressed in free jogger pant and a free shirt. Her black hair was packed in a ponytail. He was dressed in Blue jeans and a tee shirt too.He carefully helped her sit as she held onto her waist to support her big baby bump.“How do you feel?.” He asked her, and she nodded gently in response. Her legs stretched out.“I'm
JAX’S POV.The flight had been a quiet one. She had spent half of it sleeping and I didn't want to disturb her.I found it hard to brush off the image from the mind. The part where I had seen her running her right palm over the stomach of a strange woman. Was that how obsessed she was about kids?.The smile I had seen on her face, the bright one.Did that mean that she wanted kids of her own too?.I wondered.Aurora’s love life or sex life was one thing I never discussed with her, because I felt like it was none of my business. Up until we started to smash, I had not idea who used to do that for her before me. I wasn't ready to know too.But was there a chance that she was waiting for me? Wanting me to be the Father of her kids? Expecting that our casual smash might lead into something serious? Was there a chance that she did?.I doubted so. I doubted that Aurora would want more, when she obviously knew I couldn't afford to give her more than this. Her expecting more from me, was one
JAX’S POV.I stared at my reflection in the mirror again after I curled my hair to the side. I was content with the image I saw; an undercut faded that I had achieved by myself with my clipper. I wasn't a barber, but I liked cutting my hair to my taste. I was dressed and ready to go. I flashed my white set of teeth as I tilted my head countless times to see how I looked.I was cute. That was no doubt. It was an Executive 3-piece pattern Tuxedo Suit. The suit, a mixture of Black and Blue, blended perfectly. The pant was Brown, along with the bow tie. In comparison, the inner was a White shirt.I didn't want something too flashy, so I settled for it.I stepped away from the mirror to pick up my phone from the bed. My eyes landed on the screen. The time was thirty minutes after Eight, and I had not heard from her.By anything, I meant a more detailed response or anything to let me know that she was also going.Or should I message her to ask?I wondered and immediately opted out because I
AURORA’S POV.I walked up to the bar for a drink, anything to take my mind off this place. I didn’t want to come initially, but I changed my mind at the last minute. Now that I was here, I was starting to wish I was not.I almost saw myself land a heavy blow on Mr Kim’s face when he sent me that very irritating look, that expression that felt like he was thinking about seventy-seven things he wanted to do to it.He was, however, lucky that he was a boss and this was a company gathering. If not, I might have taken some letters off his name with his teeth.I exhaled deeply and tapped softly on the table with my right finger to make a not-too-loud sound.“What can I get you?” The bartender walked up to me and asked. He looked cute and young and super sexy. He looked like he had just finished high school. I knew I looked older. He had on their uniform, a White shirt and Black pants. Only this time, his top two buttons were missing. But why did I feel like he had torn it off himself? You k
JAX’S POV.I was barely paying attention to their whole talks and all. I spent just enough to know when to say the right words, like ‘Oh!’ ‘That’s amazing,’ ‘I like the idea,’ so it would look like I was following. I was aware enough to greet the new ones I was introduced to as well.Mr. Kim was a big talkative who shared every single part of his life journey with everyone who cared to listen and those that didn’t want to as well.I had never found myself that bored. It was just too much that I was starting to regret showing up this night. My mind drifted back to Aurora, and I wondered where she was and what she had to do. This was my first time here, so I had to protect her however I could. Plus, I knew there could be perverts lurking around here, anywhere. I couldn’t let them take advantage of her being alone. I also didn’t want her to be bored.“What do you think, Mr. Jax?” I heard a familiar voice say, and I raised my eyes to look his way.It was Mr. Timothy. A business partner th
AURORA’S POV.I wasn’t expecting Jax to show up anytime soon. Was it weird that I forgot about him for a brief minute, and I loved it?I loved the fact that my heart ached less. The fact that I felt whole for some seconds.Don’t get me wrong, please. I never said Jax doesn’t make me whole, but sometimes a quick break from what used to make one’s heart ache will make one realize how valuable peace can be.“I need to get a drink; I will be back.” I heard him say as he stepped off the sofa and walked away.My eyes followed him carefully—thoughts of how he would react to the news of the baby running through my mind.“You good?” I heard Adriel ask, and I snatched my eyes back to look his way.“Hmm, hmm.” I hummed, followed by a nod as I sipped on my cocktail.“You don’t look like it.” He responded.I blinked my eyes and lowered the glass a little. Too bad that a stranger I met today could notice something wrong with me while my best friend of years couldn’t even see my sadness.“I’m fine.”
