“ He knows better than to come here. He must have come for you. ” She scoffs.

I glance at her from over my shoulder. “ why would he? The last I remember, he didn’t want to see me at all. And the feeling is mutual. I don’t want to see a man like him. ”

Her brows lift in surprise. We stare at each other for a while. Eventually, she averts her gaze and comes to sit on the side of the stairs that I occupied before.

“ Is it about the Harem? ” She asks, staring into the distance where he appeared and disappeared like a figure of a mystical story.

I release a soft breath and sit down. “ How can you tell? ”

“ You are a Princess and a Lycan. They have big egos. They never share. ” She shrugs.

“ No woman should have to share her man. ” I frown.

“ Still, witches are forced to do that in the Harem of the King. ” Her lips curl up bitterly.

“ They need to fight for themselves. If they can’t do that, how can anyone else do anything for them? ” I fold my arms across my chest.
