That’s what powerful people do most of the time.

…When someone threatens their power and position, they make sure this newcomer knows about their control.

Shaking off those thoughts from my mind, I hurriedly take a bath and wear a chiffon light blue gown that goes well with my eyes. After I am done, I step out and find the girl still waiting for me beside the bed.

“ Let me lead the way. ” She smiles, her eyes warming up with the gesture.

I nod, following her out of the room. In the daylight, I can make out my surroundings. The interior looks ancient but expensive and polished. Every corner of this place gives off a dark vibe, as if I have stepped inside a creepy world that is entirely different from my world which consisted of an endless sea and a sky that was always stormy.

But sometimes, there was sunlight that reflected in the waters. And on those days, I often found myself wishing for a life filled with freedom and happiness that was out of my reach.
