Meeting the King is not so hard, after all. Here he is, sitting behind a desk, glaring me down as if he can’t wait to murder me.

But why is he not acting on his thoughts? That’s an interesting question.

“ Leister, it’s my fault. Don’t get angry at the Princess, please. ” Agrona approaches him and places her hand over his shoulder.

My eyes twitch as I look at her and then at the man’s face. He doesn’t look anywhere near ready to push her away.

Something twists inside my heart despite the hard front I am putting up. I swallow the unease and harden my stare.

“ I didn’t know this would happen. I just thought if she is out, she will feel better. It’s not good that she was locked up. ” She whispers in a small, and weak voice.

Aleister shifts his focus to her. I wait for him to flip her for letting me out without asking him first but what he says, only makes me frown.

“ You shouldn’t have let her out, Agrona. She deserves to stay in that room and she doesn’t deserve your kindness. ”
