Chapter 84

Hazel’s POV

I sat in my chair and was shaken thoroughly. What was he saying? The whole event flashed before my eyes and filled me with new fear. If he wasn’t there, I could’ve have died. My breathing was fast and unsteady and my heart was beating wildly.

“Hazel, are you okay? Hazel?”

Jasper’s voice sounded like it was from another dimension. It was eerie and faint and seemed to float on the wind. I felt myself falling into an abyss when suddenly, I felt something grab me by my waist. I felt myself being hoisted up and carried away to an unknown location and then I felt something soft beneath me.

“Hazel? Hazel? Can you hear me?”

It was Jasper’s voice again. I opened my eyes and saw a blurry figure standing above me.

“Hazel, open your eyes. It’s me.”

My eyes opened a little wider and my breath returned to my body.

“Jasper?”

I heard him sigh in relief.

I felt a pressure beside me and a soothing hand ran through my hair.

“You nearly passed out. You really should rest,” said Jasper faintly
