Chapter 72

Lorena's POV

It was morning and I still hadn't heard from Hazel. I hurried to the kitchen to get breakfast ready for Kaya while she had a quick shower. I had talked to her this morning and she had no memory of what had happened last night. To her, it was all a dream.

I did some cleaning and when I bent over to get something from the cupboard, I felt a pain in my back. I groaned and stood up straight. Ryder had helped me to dress my wound last night. He didn't do a totally great job but at least he tried to help.

It made going to bed last night almost unbearable though. I couldn't sleep on my back and I had to keep twisting and turning just to find a comfortable sleeping position. But something about the way he caressed my back as he applied the ointment, send shivers down my spine. His soft touch and his scent made me crave him terribly.

I tried to bend over again but this time, I managed to get the frying pan from the bottom cupboard with less groaning. Most times the pain was sharp
