All Tamara Jones wanted to do was go on one last solo adventure before starting college at the University of Georgia. Being an outdoor enthusiast, she had just the perfect thing in mind. Tamara had it all planned out, an overnight hike/camping trip through the Great Smoky Mountains. What she didn’t plan on however, was being hunted through the forest by a terrifying unknown predator while also getting caught in a mudslide. Thankfully, The Alpha of the Red River Falls pack, Elliot Bishop, rescued her from falling off a cliff just in time. He knew it the moment they met, Elliot had found his mate. After a chance encounter with Tamara, so did Luke Dunham, the Alpha of the Huntsman pack. With Tamara already having to deal with coming to terms that werewolves are real and having two mates that want to start a pack war over her, one sinister threat makes itself known and puts both packs in grave danger.

I scooted over as I brought a hand to my chest, it felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest and start running a marathon. “Are you alright?” “Yeah,” I paused as it all replayed again in my thoughts,” just a weird dream.” A wet dream where you kissed the stranger that saved you. “Sorry for waking you. I can leave if you want to go back to sleep.” “No, I’m okay. Besides, I think this is your room and your bed. I’ll return it to you now,” I try to stand up on my own, but the pain from my ankle causes me to lose my balance. I fall and Elliot suddenly catches me and we both go back on the bed. A nervous chuckle escapes me as I mentally chastise myself for being so embarrassing. “Are you sure? It isn’t a problem.” I nod my head and he helps me up. “Back to the couch it is.” When we finally made it back downstairs, Elliot brought me a mug of hot
The crushing impact I was expecting never came. I looked down at my dangling feet, the ground as it turns out was quite a-ways-away, then up to the large and strong hand wrapped around my non injured wrist, The rain falling from the sky into my eyes screwed up my vision, but I saw the blurred blob of a young man with short black hair. He looked to be muscular... and naked. A strange burning, yet pleasurable, tingle shot through my body as our skin made contact. Wind rushed past my ears as he hoisted me up and scooped me into his large, firm, arms. The frozen sensation that had overtaken my limbs melted away as his body heat warmed me up. I could hear his frantically beating heart in his chest as I leaned my head onto his peck. “What- What about the mudslide?” I questioned softly as a sudden tiredness overcame me. My savior said nothing as he just looked down at me and just smirked. I could’ve sworn it felt like he had jumped off the very edge he had saved me from as I couldn’t
“Shit, shit, shit, shit!” I mumble out loud as I force myself to keep running, not even stopping as sharp branches slap my face as I run through them. Luckily for me, the freezing rain numbed the hell out of my face and hands. The sound of fallen branches and twigs snapping in half echoed behind me, which meant that my pursuer was still behind me. The mud is slippery and makes it hard to keep good friction between the soles of my feet and the forest floor. I’m surprised I haven’t fallen and gotten devoured by whatever feral animal is chasing me yet. My lungs burn and muscles ache, but the adrenaline pumping in my system allows me to keep pushing my bodily limits. It’s good to know that when in a fight or flight situation I’ll choose flight, keep it in handy for next time. So, you’re probably wondering how I’ve gotten myself into quite the pickle, aren’t you? Don’t worry, I’m also currently wondering the very same thing. My guess? A certain, special, talent of getting stuck in bad sit
