Hazel’s POV

I swallowed hard and the entire meal was cold and silent. Maybe I should tell them that I saw a shadow in the car. I still, however, believed that it was all in my imagination. It couldn’t be real. It is didn’t make any sense.

Soon the bell rang and we all headed back to class. I had a free period and decided to head to the library and do some reading. I was still so confused. What did Chelsea mean by ‘Kaya is the key’? She was just a child. I, just like Ryder, didn’t want her to get involved in any of this. She was too little.

However, her getting her wolf so early was still a surprise for everyone. I still didn’t believe it. There had to be something else about her that we didn’t know about.

I took a turn and bumped into someone and my books spilled on the floor. I sighed and bent to pick them and then, I heard some distasteful voices.

“Look who it is Cindy? The slut of the year.”

I looked up and saw Erica and Cindy staring at me with sick smiles on their faces. What on
