CHAPTER 4-BACK TO WORK

Jack poured some wine into Kate's glass and invited her to drink. Kate grabbed the glass and held it with both hands like she was holding a bottle. Jack, who saw that, smiled silently. Then, with his two fingers Jack lifted the glass. His movements looked elegant, the difference was very far compared to Kate.

Kate's face immediately turned red because she was embarrassed to see the way Jack held the wine glass. Actually, Kate never knew how to hold a glass of wine, and today she learned from Jack. Kate kept learning how to hold a wine glass, but she couldn't. She always failed. She always fails. So, she raised the glass with both hands and said to Jack, "Congratulations on our first night!"

Then, Kate took a big gulp of the wine in the glass.

The next day, the sun's scorching rays pierced through the large glass in their room. Kate rolled under the covers, reluctantly getting up. Even though she was married to Jack, she still had to work. Yesterday, Kate had a lot of time off work, and today she had to go back to work.

Kate walked to the wardrobe to get the white below-the-knee skirt that she often wore to work. However, when she opened the wardrobe, she was surprised to see that all the clothes in the wardrobe were new. None of them had been brought from her home. In fact, the brand labels were still hanging on the clothes.

Kate took one of the clothes in the closet and adjusted it to her size. All the clothes she tried on fit her perfectly. Could it be that all these clothes were intentionally prepared for her? Kate only slept with Jack in this room, and all these women's clothes couldn't possibly belong to Jack. So, these should be hers, right?

Kate quickly took a pair of scissors to cut off the brand label of the clothes, and then she put them on.

Jack's villa had a total of four floors. The first floor was the living room. While the second floor was the bedroom. As for the third and fourth floors, Kate didn't know. Because, she had never been to it.

Kate went down to the main floor and saw Jack already at the dining table while reading a newspaper that discussed economic issues. Until this moment, Kate didn't know what Jack's job was. She only knew that Jack must have a lot of money. Otherwise, how could Jack give so much money to Kate to pay for her mother's surgery just for the sake of a contract marriage.

Slowly. Kate approached the dining table and pulled up a stool for fear of disturbing Jack's concentration. But, even though Kate was very careful and did it slowly, Jack immediately turned to Kate.

"Come here!" Jack pleaded in a flat tone.

Kate immediately stood back up. She approached Jack and stood next to him

"Mr. Jack and Miss Kate, please breakfast first." A maid said to Jack and Kate. She came with two glasses of warm milk and two sandwiches. Jack put the newspaper he was reading on the table. He took the wet towel on the table and wiped his hands.

"Sit down!" pleaded Jack. Kate immediately nodded. She immediately stepped her feet to return to her original chair and sat there. However, Jack suddenly grabbed her wrist and suddenly Kate was in Jack's warm hug.

"I asked you to sit here, on my lap! Not there," Jack said. Then he immediately let go of his hug. He realized that he felt like he was hypnotized by seeing Kate. He couldn't resist hugging her when he saw her this morning. Kate was dressed very neatly, and dressed up beautifully. It made Jack really like her. Moreover, the fragrant smell of Kate's body made Jack like her even more.

Kate was almost dumbfounded, but she was forced to nod to comply with Jack's request. She immediately sat on Jack's lap.

Did Jack want Kate to keep sitting on his lap? Strange! That's what was going through Kate's mind at the moment.

"Let's eat!" Jack invited in a flat voice, his facial expression also flat. As if Kate sitting on his lap was a normal thing.

Kate bowed her head. Her face looked flushed with embarrassment. In her heart Kate said, "It's a good thing he's an impotent man! So, he can't get any further with me."

Their breakfast was finished, and Jack released his hug with Kate.  Jack was indeed very handsome, his every move looked very cool and made Kate stunned. Besides that, Jack has a nature that always looks ignorant and mysterious. No one could guess what was in his mind at that time.

Kate held her still pounding chest with her face still flushed she went back to her room to get her bag and leave for work. Outside there was already a driver and an expensive car that looked very luxurious waiting for Kate on the porch of the house. Kate actually felt a little uncomfortable riding in the car, so when she left the villa and arrived at the big road, Kate asked the driver to stop the car.

"Sir, just stop here! Thank you." Kate said. She immediately got out of the luxury car. Then, she went to her office by public transportation bus.

She didn't want people to see her in a luxury car. She wouldn't know how to explain to people.

When she arrived at the office, no one knew that Kate was married. She was married to a man that all women coveted.

"Kate, someone's looking for you," Kate's manager said. It was Anne. In fact, Kate had just sat in her work chair.

Kate furrowed her brow. She had no idea who was looking for her, and it was still early in the morning. "Who's looking for me?" asked Kate. She looked at Anne in confusion.

Anne shook her head. "Just go and see her. She's waiting for you in the break room."
