(Emily’s POV).

“Of course,” he had said softly. “We will focus on getting your company back on track first. I wanted you to be completely at ease with everything before we made any major decisions.”

I smiled at his understanding. Then I briefly discussed him in the days before he had loved me. “You know, the current you look more fun,” I had said.

“Do you like the person I am now?”

“Actually, both. But I'm glad you ended up loving me.”

He then grabbed my chin and said, “Who wouldn’t love you if you were like this? So submissive and so beautiful?”

I had rolled my eyes and we had gone back to enjoying the late dinner. At one point, he had asked, “Is there any best plan you want to tell me about?”

“I think this is the best way forward,” I replied. “Restoring my company is very important, but knowing that we have a future we can look forward to makes everything feel more manageable. I want to make sure everything stabilizes before we take the next step.”
