He'd asked her on the night of the day that the news went viral if she had anything she wanted to say to him, and she said she had nothing to tell him. She was stupid.

“You saw the news, why didn't you say anything to me?”

“Was I supposed to say something to you? You were the one who was supposed to report such things about your family fighting you to your husband. I asked you that night if you had something to say, and you said no.” Dalton told her with a small shrug.

Charlotte's breath caught in her throat, this was not how she envisioned their discussion to go. She'd hoped that he hadn't known about the news, that he would be surprised, then he would get angry and throw her out. Not that she was wishing herself bad luck, but it was just the right thing for him to do: throw her out.

“Since I didn't say anything to you, why didn't you say anything?” She really wanted to know why he did not say anything to her. Surely, he must have his reasons.
