The words her mother told her kept ringing in her head as she left for home on Sunday night. After her and her mother's talk, she realized just how foolish she was again. Though she hated to admit it, her mother was right, these days, she was acting just as foolish as her father.

“You are home late, wife,” Dalton said immediately as she entered their shared room. He was already on the bed and Charlotte knew that he was half asleep because of how deep his voice was and how sleepy his eyes were, the noise of her coming in must have aroused him.

“My name is Charlotte,” she rolled her eyes at him before going inside their walk-in closet to take off her clothes and wrap a towel around her chest. She grabbed her pajamas and walked out.
