MARIA.
I woke up with a splitting headache, I cleaned my blurry eyes as I scanned through the room, wondering how I was still alive after getting involved in a fatal accident. Someone was there at the scene, and he pulled me out before the car exploded, I owe him my life but right now I don't have any time for this, I have to tell my grandfather about Allen's unfaithful act. I got up from my bed, looking at the mirror in front of me and I had no scratch on my body. How would that be? That accident could have taken my life but I ended up not having a single scratch. I glanced around, it was definitely a hotel room but the man was nowhere to be found and there was nothing to show that anyone was there except me. I grabbed my purse and walked out of the room, I had to get home quickly, Allen would pay for everything he had done. I wasted two years of my life, I gave two years of my whole life to Allen…I left to grow his dying business and this is what he was doing behind my back… having fun with his mistress…he would pay for this betrayal. I took a taxi back home, my fist clenched tightly through the whole ride, immediately I got out of the cab, and I stormed towards the house. I met Adam pacing around the porch, biting her fingers anxiously. Immediately she saw me she ran towards me. “Where have you been Miya?” She asked. “You have been keeping the whole house waiting for you.” “Where is grandfather?” I asked, ignoring her worried looks. “He is waiting for you, Allen is also inside waiting for you,” she revealed. I scoffed loudly as I looked towards the house. Allen came back to beg? Does he have no shame? After I helped his family not to go bankrupt and I spent my whole life reshaping his failing companies, he had the nerve to cheat on me and come crawling back…how pathetic. I stormed inside the house, and Adam followed me. I got inside the house, Old Grandpa was sitting on the couch, sipping his cup of coffee, Allen sat beside him, his face facing the ground. “Papa,” I called, walking closer to my grandfather. He jerked up immediately, like he had just seen a ghost“Where have you been?” He spat. “You weren't answering your phone.” “Maria,” Allen called getting up from his seat, his eyes were swollen and red, he must have been crying. I scoffed loudly, shaking my head in disappointment. This was the most ridiculous upfront I have ever seen, what does he take me for? My grandfather threw some pictures on the table, gesturing to me to pick the pictures. My jaws dropped open as I stared at the pictures. There were pictures of me on the bed with the stranger naked. I turned to Allen, my fist clenched. “What is this?” “I do not want to believe this Maria,” Old Grandpa started. “But how could you cheat on your Allen?” “Cheat on Allen?” I stuttered, turning to Allen. “I cheated? Is this what you want to use to wiggle your way out of your unfaithfulness?” I eyed. “Maria, I know that I have failed you, I can't even handle my company, you lost two years of your life saving my company, but do you have to cheat on me?” He cried. I turned to Old Grandpa. “I don't have the time to prove my innocence, Allen was the one that cheated, I caught him in bed with another woman…on my way back to report Allen I got involved in an accident…the man in the picture, he was the one that saved my life,” I defended. “Accident?” Allen scoffed. “If there was an accident we would have heard about it, you are Maria Rodriguez, who doesn't know you and besides you don't have a single scratch on your body.” “You are right, I am Maria Rodriguez but you left one thing… Maria Rodriguez does not betray anyone.” Old Grandpa took in deep breaths turning to me. “I believe you, but these pictures say otherwise so until I find out what is going on, this matter remains silent.” I shook my head in disagreement. “I don't know how Allen got his hands on these pictures but for him to have these pictures, he must know about the accident.” “Maria would not cheat on you,” Adam defended. “She might not love you but she would never do something like that.” “Do you think I cheated on her?” Allen scoffed. “What would I gain from having a mistress? My parents would kill me but she…she has all the right to do that.” “Enough all of you.” Old Grandpa shouted. “I will handle this but until then this matter stays in this room, until then prepare for the big day.” “What big day?” A voice shouted from behind. It was one of the shareholders of The Rodriguez's group. “I hope you do not plan on making her the chairman of the company after her infidelity.” “What are you doing here?” Old Grandpa demanded. “We heard the news and decided to come here to confirm,” he answered, turning to me. “Do you really think we won't find out about this?” “I am sure this all a big misunderstanding,” Old Grandpa defended. “No,” I stopped him. “I will find the man that is in the picture, I am sure he has a logical explanation for this.” I turned to Adam. “Find the man.” “There is no need,” Allen blurted out. “The man tried to blackmail the family with your nudes, I had to take care of him.” The man scoffed loudly. “Allen is so nice enough to make sure the world doesn't see his wife's true nature.” Allen gestured to the guards. They grabbed the man inside. It was the man that saved me. “Tell everyone what you told me, how you are involved with Maria,” Allen commanded. “Miya is my mistress, we have been in a relationship for some years now, we met in Paris,” the man explained. “What?” I shouted, my jaws dropped open in shock.MICHAEL'S POV. I sat quietly on the couch shaking the glass of wine in my hand, my mind still clouded with guilt. I still couldn't believe Allen talked me into this evil act, it wasn't because I was righteous, I was the complete opposite. My name was Micheal but I was known among the billionaires as “The drug devil”. I was a drug dealer, one that you shouldn't mess with…one that valued money more than family. I was someone who sent shivers through people's spine, there was no single person that crossed me and never lived. I had everything, the face, the looks, the aura, the money, the power…everything was at the tip of my fingers, there was nothing I couldn't do or get. But how did I end up here? Let's rewind… I killed a family, from the father to his two-day-old child, he was a cop…yeah, I never feared authority, he messed up a deal and I lost fifty million dollars because of that, but after that, it was like a whole was left in me, I felt empty…this wasn't the life I want
MICHAEL'S POV. I opened my eyes slowly as I looked around me. The last thing I remembered was the lady with Allen knocked me out. I couldn't believe he could do this…after everything I have done, and sacrificed for him, he was beyond redemption, when I see him I would make sure I cut his legs off. I looked around, I was placed in my car, I tried opening the door but it was jammed, I scanned the surroundings hoping to find someone who could help me, but it appeared that I was on top of a cliff. Why would they bring me here? Were they planning to threaten me or kill me? Either way, I would make sure the two of them pay for everything they have done.“You have woken up,” I heard Allen's voice, I turned to the screen attached to my windshield. “Allen,” I smoldered, clenching my fist in anger. “You little bastard… when I get out of here….”“I would rip your limbs apart and feed them to my dogs,” he interrupted, rolling his eyes. “C'mon Mike, we both know you are no longer capable of t
MARIA'S POV.It was a bright morning, the sun shining at its peak, casting a beautiful glow through the hospital glass, my hips swinging left and right as I walked through the hospital halls. The male doctors and some patients' mouths fell open as I passed them, they whispered among themselves. “Isn't that Maria Maria?” They asked each other. Yes, I am Maria Maria, I changed my last name, there was no need to carry on my last name after they chased me out of the company. “I am sorry,” a man bumped into me. “I am sorry,” he apologized, with a bow and turned to go. “Michael,” I called. He paused immediately, turning back to me.“How do you know my name?” He asked, his brows furrowed in curiosity. Thirty minutes later we sat in a coffee shop, he sat quietly across the table sipping his coffee. “You seem to miss the coffee a lot,” I broke the silence. “I am trying to process all that you just said,” he revealed, dropping the cup on the table. “So you're telling me that you found m
