MICHAEL'S POV.
I opened my eyes slowly as I looked around me. The last thing I remembered was the lady with Allen knocked me out. I couldn't believe he could do this…after everything I have done, and sacrificed for him, he was beyond redemption, when I see him I would make sure I cut his legs off. I looked around, I was placed in my car, I tried opening the door but it was jammed, I scanned the surroundings hoping to find someone who could help me, but it appeared that I was on top of a cliff. Why would they bring me here? Were they planning to threaten me or kill me? Either way, I would make sure the two of them pay for everything they have done. “You have woken up,” I heard Allen's voice, I turned to the screen attached to my windshield. “Allen,” I smoldered, clenching my fist in anger. “You little bastard… when I get out of here….” “I would rip your limbs apart and feed them to my dogs,” he interrupted, rolling his eyes. “C'mon Mike, we both know you are no longer capable of that.” “Wait till I get out of here,” I growled. “You won't,” he smiled. “Years ago a friend told me that if I wanted to get rich in life, I needed to fight for it, to always be ahead and if I was cursed to be poor, I should make someone rich for me, then I take it, that friend made me what I am today.” “I didn't make you this way,” I snapped, slamming my fist on the chair. “You are solely responsible for what you have become, do you really think I would let you take anything from The Rodriguez's group?” I scoffed. “Oh, don't tell me that you already developed feelings for my wife, we are getting married soon.” “You used me, I don't like being used,” I hissed, my eyes red in anger. “Since when have you been planning this?” “Since when did you change?” He asked. “You weren't a man that would have cared.” He was right, I wouldn't have cared but I certainly cared about something, using me to steal from other people…that is my principle... I don't steal from others. “My family went bankrupt, and approaching The Rodriguez's group was my only chance to save them, I approached them…she fell easily for my charms, she saved my family, but I knew I had something bigger…The Rodriguez's group.” “You are after their group? Is this what all of this is about?” I snapped. “It is not just an ordinary group,” he shouted. “It is The Rodriguez's group, the biggest in the world…if she had gone to tell her family about my affair, I would not just go broke, I would be killed and I couldn't let that happen,” he defended. “And you didn't see it necessary to tell your best friend all this?” I asked, my voice filled with venom. I have been so caught up in trying to help a childhood friend that I missed the part where he became so vicious. “Tell you?” He scoffed. “You always see yourself as a righteous god, you wouldn't have agreed to this, you were the righteous among all,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “So you think taking up a company that isn't yours is the best thing to do?” I snapped. “It is better than taking people's lives,” he snapped back. “Stop seeing yourself as a god Mike, you are the real enemy here, I haven't killed anyone…I haven't broken any law, you have killed countless people for fun, I haven't killed a single soul.” “So that makes us different?” I scoffed. “We are alike, I kill, and you stole something…someone's sweat and blood…how is that different from killing the person?” “Say what you want Mike, you were a friend till the last but if I had told you about my plans from the onset, you wouldn't have agreed to any of this and I would still be in your shadows depending on you for a little cash.” “Let me go, Allen, you know what I can do,” I threatened. “I can't let you go, I am sorry…Maria is a relentless bitch, she is searching high and low for you, if she finds you, it is the end game for me, you are only going to destroy all my years of effort, I can't let you go.” “Allen, there is no redemption for you, you can't kill me and you know that my men would hunt you to the very end.” “Oh that is why Joan would be here with me,” he smiled, taking up his phone. “Your son is sleeping but Joan is in the kitchen…I think.” My eyes widened in alarm. What was he planning on doing with Joan? He has clearly lost his mind. “Stay away from Joan,” I snapped. “Don't push your luck too far.” “Hey,” I heard Joan over the phone. “Do you want chicken?” My heart hammered loudly in my chest, my mind clouded with unsettling thoughts, scanning the car again for a way out. “Joan, stay away from him,” I shouted. Allen smiled, bringing the phone to Joan. “Hey, love,” he smiled. Joan turned to him and pulled him into a kiss. “Hey sweetie,” she smiled, turning to the phone. “He is still alive?” “Joan,” I called, my mouth fell open in shock, I can't believe could do this to me. “Joan, why?” She shrugged. “I guess, two billion dollars net worth, that you left for your son,” she laughed. “But I loved you, I did everything you wanted, I even fought my father for you…you were the lady with Allen in the club,” I cried. “How could you?” “I am sorry…” she said, her voice dripping in mockery. “I was ahead of you, did you think that you could dump me after giving you a son?” Allen moved the phone away. “Mike, I really wanted you to see me take over The Rodriguez's group, but Maria is just being a bitch right now…and you are not cooperating, I can't let you destroy all my years of efforts…Goodnight Mike,” he said cutting the call. “Allen!!!,” I screamed. There is no way I would let Joan and Allen get away with this betrayal. I tried to break the glass of the door, but it didn't even crack, after much-wasted effort, I stopped sitting quietly in the car. My father was right, what was I thinking, I left everything to my son and went after a life of so-called redemption and for what? To get killed. I closed my eyes to concentrate on my surroundings but all I could hear was a ticking sound…the car started moving towards the end of the cliff…Allen must have hired some thugs. They pushed the car over the cliff and the ticking sound continued. Would this be the end of it? Is this how I would die? I have to come back, I will have to come back and kill those people. “Allen!!!!” I screamed and suddenly everything went blank.MARIA'S POV.It was a bright morning, the sun shining at its peak, casting a beautiful glow through the hospital glass, my hips swinging left and right as I walked through the hospital halls. The male doctors and some patients' mouths fell open as I passed them, they whispered among themselves. “Isn't that Maria Maria?” They asked each other. Yes, I am Maria Maria, I changed my last name, there was no need to carry on my last name after they chased me out of the company. “I am sorry,” a man bumped into me. “I am sorry,” he apologized, with a bow and turned to go. “Michael,” I called. He paused immediately, turning back to me.“How do you know my name?” He asked, his brows furrowed in curiosity. Thirty minutes later we sat in a coffee shop, he sat quietly across the table sipping his coffee. “You seem to miss the coffee a lot,” I broke the silence. “I am trying to process all that you just said,” he revealed, dropping the cup on the table. “So you're telling me that you found m

MARIA. I woke up with a splitting headache, I cleaned my blurry eyes as I scanned through the room, wondering how I was still alive after getting involved in a fatal accident. Someone was there at the scene, and he pulled me out before the car exploded, I owe him my life but right now I don't have any time for this, I have to tell my grandfather about Allen's unfaithful act. I got up from my bed, looking at the mirror in front of me and I had no scratch on my body. How would that be? That accident could have taken my life but I ended up not having a single scratch. I glanced around, it was definitely a hotel room but the man was nowhere to be found and there was nothing to show that anyone was there except me. I grabbed my purse and walked out of the room, I had to get home quickly, Allen would pay for everything he had done. I wasted two years of my life, I gave two years of my whole life to Allen…I left to grow his dying business and this is what he was doing behind my back…
MICHAEL'S POV. I sat quietly on the couch shaking the glass of wine in my hand, my mind still clouded with guilt. I still couldn't believe Allen talked me into this evil act, it wasn't because I was righteous, I was the complete opposite. My name was Micheal but I was known among the billionaires as “The drug devil”. I was a drug dealer, one that you shouldn't mess with…one that valued money more than family. I was someone who sent shivers through people's spine, there was no single person that crossed me and never lived. I had everything, the face, the looks, the aura, the money, the power…everything was at the tip of my fingers, there was nothing I couldn't do or get. But how did I end up here? Let's rewind… I killed a family, from the father to his two-day-old child, he was a cop…yeah, I never feared authority, he messed up a deal and I lost fifty million dollars because of that, but after that, it was like a whole was left in me, I felt empty…this wasn't the life I want
