Chapter 4

Morning comes and Tristan crosses his arms as the maids pass by him to clean the other rooms of the house, he was growing impatient as he waited outside Raven's door

“Raven! How much longer are you going to take? It's 4:45 am!” Tristan exclaims as he knocks on her bedroom door, it doesn't take long until Raven opens the door and before she could react Tristan was already pulling her along

“You're so slow! I'm gonna be late" Tristan complains as they get to his car, he immediately gets into the driver's seat and Raven hurriedly follows, getting into the passenger’s seat

“Why are you in such a hurry? Don't classes start at 7?” Raven asks as she buckles herself up, Tristan starts up his car and starts driving

“Yes but I'm the President of the School, I have more things to do than sit around in class” Tristan says, clearly annoyed already so Raven doesn't say anything else until they've reached the school grounds

Tristan was back to pulling Raven along, The school was still deserted considering it was 5am and no one would go to school that early if their classes start at 7

“Good Morning Tristan" A Teacher greeted and Tristan just nods his head

“Good Morning, this is the transferee" He greets back as he pulls Raven into the office of the school government, Raven slightly bows her head at the teacher before getting dragged away by the tall man beside her

“This is where you'll sit when I'm working here” Tristan says and points at the seat… Right beside his table

“Now where are those two…” He mutters as he looks around their office, he walks out into the hallway and Raven follows behind him

They walked until they've reached a classroom at the end of the hallway where there were some students inside, chatting away

“Hey Gavin! Hailey!” Tristan calls out and the said people turns to him, as well as some other students 

“Yo! Tristan! Why couldn't I contact you man? I've been trying to reach out to you but you don't answer your phone” Gavin greets as he bumps fists with Tristan

“I changed my phone number, the old one was getting sent messages from here… Did you leak my number, Hailey?” Tristan asked and the girl immediately laughs

“Come on! Your single ass needs to get out there and meet beautiful ladies around here, I'm sure your parents would be glad too” Hailey replies

“I don't need to” Tristan replies and tugs Raven who was behind him

“This is Raven, The Kim's daughter” He introduced and his two friends look at Raven whose eyes quivered, she bows politely and Gavin eyes Tristan

“And… You're introducing us to her because?” Gavin asks and Tristan fixes his collar before leaning close to them

“She's… She's my Fiancé” He whispers and Gavin immediately covers Hailey's mouth as he saw how her eyes widened and her mouth opened as if she was ready to scream her lungs out

“Your what!? Tristan we haven't made contact for a week and you tell me you're getting married? Have you finally gone crazy from your parent's urging that you're marrying their business partner's child?” Gavin asks, pulling Tristan aside

“Wow what a way to word it, thank you Gavin” Tristan sarcastically replies

“Can we take this to the office? Everyone's looking” Tristan says as he notices the eyes all on them, Gavin drags Hailey away who was struggling in his arms, trying to get his hand away from her mouth

They all made their way to their office and as they walked through the hallways, students were coming in. Their eyes get glued towards the group and of course they notice the new face that's trailing them around

“Just stay behind me and don't look at anyone” Tristan whispers under his breath as he eyes Raven above his shoulder

Gossips fill the hallways as the new face trailed just behind Tristan who's known around school not only for his family's name and wealth but his exceptional talent for business namely in the Fashion industry, not only that but his looks can get you turning your head from a mile away. His great height, his chiseled face and toned body would get your attention as soon as he enters your peripheral vision

“Mister Fashion Icon, your fans are waving gifts” Gavin says and Tristan rolls his eyes

“Please Gavin just shut your mouth if nothing of use is gonna come out of it" Tristan replies, Hailey laughs from Gavin’s hold and Gavin just snickers

“Go to class all of you, don't stand around in the hallway if you're just gonna stare at us walking. Prom’s just a few days away so if you don't want it canceled I suggest you do as I say” Tristan warns and almost immediately the students rush to their classrooms

“Way to go Mr. President" Gavin says and Tristan shakes his head

As they reached their office, they sat down and Tristan went into detail of how Raven and Himself got into this position

“I can't tell if your dad's a douche or not from the way you told us that story" Gavin says and Tristan shrugs

“So… She's your maid… But she's also your Fiancé, that doesn't sound promising” Hailey said and turned to Raven who was silent the entire time

"She's quite pretty actually… But I suggest you don't tell anyone that she's your maid" Hailey advises and Tristan looks at her

“I don't plan to, do you think I'd do that? Only a psycho would do that" Tristan replies

“Bro, you have tendencies" Gavin remarks and Tristan throws a pen on his desk, to Gavin

“Fuck off Gavin, no one asked your opinion" Tristan replies and Gavin erupts into laughter while Hailey shook her head

"Tristan?”

The teacher peeks his head through the door as he called out the young man

"Yes, Sir?” Tristan asked and stood up

"Your parents… Are in the Gym Court calling students for an announcement" The Teacher replies and Tristan looks at his friends before looking at Raven who was as shocked as he was

“Oh… Well… That can't be good” Gavin says and Tristan hurriedly runs out of the office, he passes by students who were greeting him telling him that his parents had called them to the Gym

"Oh! Just in time! Tristan come up here” His mother calls out as he enters the Gym, he looks around to see almost all the students of the school inside

"What are you doing, mom? dad?” He asks as he made his way towards them, smiling awkwardly at his peers who greeted him

"Come on, announce your engagement. Everyone here is acquainted to our company and it would be great if they could attend your wedding” His mom revealed and his eyes turn to his dad to ask for help but he was avoiding the eye contact

"You're an unbelievable man, dad” He thinks

“Oh! There's Raven, I was wondering why you went here alone. You already introduced her to your friends" His mom adds and he turns to see Raven with Hailey and Gavin

“Go on stage now and make an announcement, I'm waiting Tristan" She says and Tristan clears his throat, forcing a smile out as he climbs the stage and goes in front of the mic

He taps the mic a few times, checking it before turning to his parents. His mom was smiling while his dad was smiling too… Apologetically to him, his mom pulling Raven from Hailey and Gavin

“Uhm… Hello, Good Morning to everyone” Tristan starts and his peers greet him back

"Uhh… I…  I don't know where to start… But I have an announcement to make" He says and the gym turns silent, he turns to his mom who nods her head, urging him to continue

“God… This is hell…” He thinks

“In… 2 weeks, I would like to formally invite everyone… To my… Wedding” Tristan manages to announce and the Gym turns noisy at the sudden news

His mom gets up on stage, arm in arm with Raven. She pats the girl's shoulder before making her stand beside Tristan, Raven's eyes became unfocused, looking at anything and everything as Tristan heaves a breath

"This is… My beloved… Fiancé… Raven Kim” Tristan says and he reaches out to hold Raven's hand, the girl immediately turns to him, her face turning beet red 

"Come on Tristan… Say more, maybe to other guys and girls out there" His mother says and Tristan swears this was the hardest thing he had ever done in his entire life but he gathers himself and tries to think of something

“I would also like to clarify… That to anyone who tries to even touch a single piece of her hair, I will personally make your life a living hell. No one is allowed to touch anything that I own, that goes without saying but I just want to make it clear… And to everyone who has been trying to get my attention, this is your time to stop because nothing and no one will take my attention away from her from this moment onwards” He announced, he tilts his head a bit to see his mother's reaction and sighs in relief to see her smile

He turns fully to look at Raven who had her head down, ears flushed red and his land on their intertwined hands. He wants to pull away but once he does he will catch his mother's attention and so he squeezes Raven's hand lightly, she raises her head to look at him

“Let's go" He says and Raven nods

“You didn't help at all dad" Tristan whispers as they walked past his dad

“You know I can't do anything with your mom around" His dad replies and helps his wife get down the stage

“What a show of dominance Tristan” Gavin teases and Tristan was quick to give him a punch in the arm

“Is it true, Tristan?”

Tristan's head turns towards the voice and he knows her all too well

"Yes, Stacy it is… So tell your sister to stop pestering me" Tristan replies and Stacy looks at Raven

“My sister's a better girl" She says and Raven avoids hee gaze

“No, she's not. Raven's better than her in every way, she's nowhere near her level" Tristan replies and Hailey giggles

"That's true, Raven's so much better even though we just met her today. Honestly it surprises me how horrible your sister is compared to her” Hailey backs her friend up and Stacy huffs in anger before storming away

"Well isn't that something, what'd you eat today?” Gavin asks Hailey jokingly

"Gavin you have not helped a single ounce into this situation” Hailey replies and Gavin raises his arm as if surrendering

“Thanks Hailey" Tristan says and Hailey smiles… At Raven

"Don't get me wrong Tristan, we're friends and all but I'm doing this for my fellow girlie" Hailey says and Tristan looks at Raven who lifted her head to look at Hailey

“Oh is it because—"

“Shut your mouth man" Gavin was now the one shutting Tristan up as he know what he was about to say

To everyone it might seem that Hailey had entered the two guy’s friendship mainly because of their childhood, growing up with the two boys was sure enough to get her into a friendship with them but… Hailey didn't grow up with them, she only entered their lives during High School when her Father introduced her to Gavin… The child of his business partner and the one she was supposed to marry after they graduate College

She knew this situation very well, which was why… She wants to help Raven, a girl who's suddenly put into an arranged marriage with a guy she barely knew
