Melody held her head which still felt heavy. She didn't know how long she had been vomiting like that since the last time she accompanied Mark to kill his enemy. The fishy smell of blood and the corpses lying irregularly on the floor made her head dizzy and her stomach sick. Melody's body was completely limp now.
Mark and Ben finished off all the cops, then burned them to ashes and scattered the ashes in the sea. Melody saw all of that with her own eyes, how cruel and heartless Mark and Ben were.
In Melody's eyes, Mark and Ben weren't human. What kind of human could do that without feeling the slightest bit of guilt?
"Can you stop throwing up? My head is spinning from hearing your voice in the toilet!" Mark snapped as soon as Melody returned to the man's room. The toilet is not soundproof, so Mark can hear every time Melody vomits.
"Sorry, I'm not used to seeing and smelling blood, it makes me sick," Melody said quietly.
"I asked you to move to another place, a place that is better, more luxurious, and soundproof, but you like it in a simple place like this! Look at the leaders of other groups with their classy style! They have much more luxurious workspaces than the president !" quipped Ben who had been lying on the couch.
"Shut up!" said Mark annoyed.
Melody, who didn't know what to do, just sat quietly near Ben. There was only Mark's sofa and desk in the room, so Melody had no other choice.
"Don't worry, over time you will get used to it. Mark also experienced it the first time he joined us. That innocent, kind-hearted person was tormented! He even often had nightmares the first time he shot someone!" Ben glanced at Melody and winked.
Ben clearly remembers how Mark looked and behaved when he first met him. And it's not much different from Melody. It seems like a good person would experience something similar if they had to deal with the ruthless underworld of the mafia.
Melody just took a deep breath in response to Ben's story.
"Melody is like that too, I saw her crying in her sleep, maybe she's dreaming of something terrible," Mark said quietly.
Melody only frowned in confusion. The girl never remembered what dream she had while sleeping when she woke up.
"Wow, you guys sleep in the same room? I can imagine a hot night with the beautiful Melody in a red bikini!" exclaimed Ben enthusiastically.
Melody shook her head weakly. That night it was really hot because Mark didn't want to turn on the AC because he wanted a free sauna. And forget about bikinis, Mark didn't give her proper clothes, the man only lent her clothes for Melody to wear. And the man let Melody sleep on the sofa without a pillow.
"Look at those small boobs! That bikini will fall right away because there's no big boobs to support it!" said Mark who was still busy with the laptop in front of him.
Melody could only sigh heavily listening to the cruel men talk about her small chest.
If they were normal men in general, Melody would have slapped the men and reported them to the police for verbally abusing her. But it didn't seem like there would be any point in calling the police considering the two of them had just finished off the cops so viciously.
"At least, she has a pretty face!" Ben snapped.
"I don't need anything else but those beautiful eyes!" said Mark quickly.
Melody just takes a deep breath.
"Hey, why is her face so pale?" muttered Ben as he straightened up.
Ben and Mark looked at Melody.
"Ah, I forgot to give her some food. She hasn't eaten anything since this morning," Mark said casually.
Ben rolled his eyes and threw the magazine on the table at Mark.
"You crazy mobster! Melody is a girl! She's not you who can't stand eating all day! Moreover, she's been throwing up all this time! Gosh, this bastard is driving me crazy!" Ben shouted and then left Mark's room.
Mark was silent, he then closed his laptop and looked at Melody.
"Hey, you hungry?" asked Mark quietly.
Melody didn't know what to say. Of course, she was hungry, but she wasn't sure if she could put food in her stomach considering her stomach was constantly queasy and her fist was throbbing in pain.
"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear me ask?" exclaimed Mark annoyed.
"Give me some food," was all Melody could say.
Melody didn't know when Mark would offer food again, so she had to make the most of it. Even though she was very nauseous, she couldn't let her stomach be empty or she might get sick.
"Action is needed more than a question! You stupid mafia!" grunted Ben who had just entered the room carrying a cup of noodles and a glass of water.
Mark took a deep breath. He then leaned his back on the chair and watched Ben who was giving the cup noodles to Melody.
"Eat while it's warm, it will warm your tummy!" Ben shouted then returned to sit beside Melody.
"This is weird, I've never seen you this nice to someone," joked Mark with a frown.
Ben shook his head slowly.
"Honestly Boss, since Melody was around you've gotten a little bit better! You won't explode easily, and that benefits me a lot! I don't have to put extra effort into cleaning up the mess you make when you're angry. So, Melody's presence is precious, it's only right she was treated well!" Ben explained at length.
Melody glanced at Ben. Providing instant noodles after a day of accompanying them, was that the kind of treatment she deserved?
"You're right, she should be treated well, then, I'll buy plenty of bread for her to carry around, and she's free to eat whenever she wants," Mark exclaimed then returned to open his laptop.
Bread?
"You are too mean, Boss! We are Indonesians, our stomachs are not designed to be full just by eating bread! Give him three meals of rice a day!" Ben shouted angrily.
Mark sighed annoyed.
"Why are you making such a fuss? You know we have a lot of work to do, we can't keep stopping just to accompany her to eat!" growled Mark.
"Bread is enough," interrupted Melody before Mark got even more annoyed.
Mark was terrible when angry, so she had to stay out of any argument that might upset him as much as possible.
Mark nodded in agreement. He was relieved that Melody thought the same as him. He doesn't like anything complicated. Especially if he has to waste time eating three times a day. He had so much to take care of.
"Boss! Headquarters under attack!" shouted one of Mark's men who had just appeared from behind the door.
Without saying anything, Mark and Ben immediately followed the man out of the room while Melody followed them while eating her noodles.
Drop by drop tears fell down Melody's cheeks. After such a long time, he was finally able to eat something warm, why should there be a problem at a time like this? She doesn't know how long she should accompany Mark in a battle like this.
Melody swallowed the noodles roughly in her mouth when a gunshot sounded from downstairs.
Melody kept hiding behind Mark's body when the man continued to exchange fire with his enemy.Mark regretted not giving Melody the bulletproof vest earlier, that girl was always in danger when she was with him, so, shouldn't Mark be more vigilant?Mark pulled Melody's hand, making her close to his back.Mark frowned in confusion as all of his enemies withdrew and stopped shooting when a group of men came. A man in a very neat formal suit, accompanied by several of his men.A heavy sigh escaped Mark's mouth. The man also gave a code to his men for them to retreat immediately."Not bad, you used to lose a lot of members when I came, I think it's much better now," said the man in a black suit.Melody peeked from between Mark's shoulders, she saw the man in a black suit with a haughty style staring at them."You came to test me? Damn it, I'm busy, go!" growled Mark."Hey, don't snap like that, you got to this position because of me, be nice!" exclaimed the man as he walked arrogantly towa
Melody had just gotten into the car when a gunshot sounded so hard that it hit the car they were in. Ben, who looked annoyed, immediately took his gun and got ready to leave.Mark, who was sitting beside Melody, only took a deep breath as he looked back. When Melody followed Mark's line of sight, she froze when she saw a small crack in the windshield of the car they were in."Relax; this car is bulletproof, so you're safe here," Mark said casually.Melody still had her eyes wide open when she saw Ben having a shootout with a group of people outside. They had just stepped out of the Mark family's main house when this incident occurred. Is mafia life really like this? They should continue to fight whenever the need arises. Life was not something they could respect; why could it be so easy to kill someone? Melody really couldn't believe this."You experience this every day?" Melody spoke slowly to Mark, who was currently busy with the cell phone in his hand."Yeah, it's nothing." Mark th
"There's one of our bases not far from here, would you like to stop by?" Ben asked quietly. Mark, who was leaning back while closing his eyes, sighed heavily for the umpteenth time today. Leading a group that was on the verge of being destroyed is no easy feat. Mark is the only child of the leader of the Black Eagle mafia group. His father, who died tragically due to an accident, made him inevitably take over his father's position, and become the leader of the Black Eagle group. Too much to take care of. Even though Mark had tried to solve their group's problems one by one, the problems kept coming and made his head hurt. It was this very heavy burden that made him turn into a temperamental man. Mark felt like he could explode anytime he was touched, because of that, everyone was afraid of him. Everyone except Ben. Ben is a crazy man who is very used to Mark's bad behavior. Because of that, Ben is always by Mark's side. "Let's stop by, I'm thirsty." said Mark briefly. Without say
Melody fell on the floor because her knees suddenly felt weak. With slow motions, she brought her hand to her face and examined her bloodied hand.It happened so fast, Melody had just set foot in a place that Mark called the headquarters when someone was shot and his blood sprayed on Melody's body. How could Melody not be surprised? This was the first time she saw someone being shot dead right in front of her."What's wrong?" asked Mark who was standing right beside Melody.Mark looked at one of his men who was still holding a gun."That idiot was almost caught by the police! They're not the cops we know, so that makes me nervous!" cried the man while putting the gun back under his jacket.Melody, who was still sitting on the floor, tried to glance at the man she believed was dead.
