The hot water hit her skin almost instantly, making her gasp in surprise.

It was exactly when Mr Doyle felt her presence behind him and turned. Vinnie held her breath when he glanced over his shoulder, before his body turned completely towards her. Their eyes locked together and the realization of what she had done slowly began to sink in.

“Vinnie…?” He breathed out quietly and she swore her heart skipped a beat at the way he said her name. It was soft and gentle and for a brief second, she thought she saw a hint of surprise flash across his face.

But then again, she did something unexpected. She had taken the kind of initiative that he probably didn’t expect from someone like her.
