Chapter 13. I smell jealousy

Emily's POV

Enthusiasm lingered in the air and people's stares made my skin crawl. Their lips curled upwards and the majority of them held a phone in their hands, recording Collin as he proposed to me with a ring on his finger. Noise filled the background as people cheered me to accept the proposal.

My hands shook badly as anxiety creeped through my veins.

Truly, I wasn't expecting Collin to propose to me today so everything is still like a dream to me.

I slipped my fingers into my wavy brunette hair, releasing cool breaths from my mouth as I tried to compose myself. I could feel my heart beat out of my ribcage and my lungs feel suffocated at the moment.

“Emerald–” Collin's voice resounded, snatching me out of my thoughts. I turned to stare at his deep sea blue eyes which sparkled as it studied my reaction.
