Chapter 17. A function.

Emily’s POV.

The night passed slowly, each minute dragging on like an eternity. Finally, Dawn crept in through the curtains, casting a pale light across the room. No sooner had my alarm chimed than I bolted out from the covers. I robbed my eyes and yawned, feeling rejuvenated for a new day’s activities. The sound of the alarm pierced the silence, prompting me to smack it till it turned off.

My gaze traveled to the wall clock.

“Nine thirty,” I mumbled under my breath, feeling the need to get more sleep since it was Saturday.. As I laid down on the bed, I placed my head on the soft pillow, I closed my eyes with a grin plastered on my face. A peaceful feeling greeted me with an eerie silence, a sharp contrast to the usual chaos of my evenings.

Just when I remembered something, my eyes flicked open, and I sat on the bed with wide eyes.
