SELENA'S POV

"You used to be friends by Jaxon before?" I asked to clarify because it really made me shocked. The thought that the two of them almost kill each other just to win in the competition of business world can't accept the fact that I discovered right now.

He nodded, "Yes. It started when he saved me from drowning almost seven years ago, but his parents poisoned his mind and conflict on our relationship as friends started there."

"That's how greedy his parents were. It really feels good that they already at the jail."

Jacob stood up and kissed me on my forehead, it woke up my sleepy system. What just happened? D-Did he really kissed my forehead?

I looked at him while my lips are parted, he smiled at me and fixed my hair, "He's so lucky to have an angel like you as his wife."

"H-huh?" That's the only word came out from my mouth. What's his reason to do this kind of stuff all of a sudden? Is he out of his mind?

My eyes can't stand to fight his stares anymore, so I looked away and cleared my throat to shake off the awkwardness at the atmosphere, "Ahm, don't you have meetings today or something?"

He shook his head, "None, I already finished it yesterday, so I can stay here to take care of you," he sat again and gave me a tea. "Why? You feel uncomfortable?"

Super, isn't it obvious?

"Ahm," I bowed my head to stare at the tea that he gave, "It's not like that. I'm just worried that you have many important things to do now, but you can't because you're here."

"Don't worry, it's all done. Finish your tea and get some rest, the doctor said that you can discharge by tomorrow if nothing bad happened to you now."

I just stared at him. He looked sincere by his words and actions, but there are something bad I feel about it. It's not that I'm suspicious of him, but I think this is too much if he's just paying back his friend.

Argh, maybe I'm just overthinking everything.

MAXINE'S POV

"What are we going to do now?" I asked him after we found out the result of the pregnancy test that I took. It's already two weeks that my menstruation stopped, that made me suspicious.

He washed his face using his palm, "What did you do to me?!"

I felt scared when he suddenly shouted at my face, range is obviously showed at his face. He sat again and throw the pregnancy test at the wall, get his luggage and starting to pack up his clothes.

What the hell is he doing? Is he planning to dump after putting this child in my womb?

"Stop it, Jaxon."

I am putting back all the clothes that he packed on the closet, but he continues on putting his other clothes. His luggage turned upside down when I kicked it, he holds my chin tightly and pinned me on the wall.

"I'm not going to stand as the father of that child. It's not mine!" He shouted and throw me at the floor, I'm catching breath because of the fear that my stomach will bang on somewhere.

"You're the only one I'm with that day. This child is yours, even if you're going to deny it as many times as you want."

He looked at me for a second and get his luggage.

"Step your feet outside the door, and I'll slit my neck."

My hands are trembling while holding the cutter near my neck, he turned around to look at me and leaned at the door while his arms are crossed. His face is blank, no emotion at all. What's wrong with him? Why did he not stop me or promising me to take responsibility of my child just to put down the cutter back?

"Go, slit it and die."

My tears streamed down because of those words, that's worse than to kill myself. My knees weakened, sat at the floor while trying to accept what he just said to me.

"What bad thing have I done to you?" I asked and looked at him while my tears are not stopping to fell down at my cheeks, "Why do you always make me miserable?"

"You're the one whose making your life miserable, it's your choice to be like this at first," he said that made me laugh, he didn't know anything. His mind is so enclosed to get the things more clear and better.

I stood up, looking directly at him, "Your parents just poisoned your mind. You're happy, peaceful and different person before while we're together, that's why I can't accept before when you said that it's just a show because you're feeling before to me are real."

He chuckled, "How did you know that I really loved you?" he asked as he walked closer to me.

"You shouldn't save me the night that your father almost raped me..."

My chest tightened when I remember again that horrible night that almost made me to kill myself...

' "Maxine, can we talk?" Mr. Lerion asked me when Jaxon is gone to get some wine for us, while his wife is talking to someone on her phone.

"About what?" I asked him, he just signed me to follow him, and he brought me to a room that is full of paintings. "Wow, a real art gallery." I exclaimed because of amusement.

Mr. Lerion walked closer to my back, I can already feel his heavy breaths that made me uncomfortable, "That paintings are made by Jaxon. He always called as the son of art."

I nod and walked away from him, looking closer to the paintings. A painting of naked lady caught my attention, it's inspired from a famous painting that we studied before. My whole body stunned when he holds my both shoulders and smell it up to my neck, what's wrong with him?

"A-ah, I'm not comfortable with that, Mr. Lerion." I tried to remove his hands, but he pinned me at the wall, his eyes are full of lust that made me scared and disgusted.

I closed my eyes when his face is moving closer to mine, because of too much fear, my body is stocked to its place and doesn't know anything to fight this pervert.

"Ah!"

Someone fell on the floor, and another one that grabbed my hands and dragged me out of the room. My eyes are still closed, trusting the man that is dragging me to somewhere, I know who is it.

"You're safe now, I'm sorry." He hugged me tightly and tapped my head to comfort me. My knees are still weak, my heart will about to explode because of fear and relief at the same time.

"Thank you, Jaxon." '

"You remember now?" I asked him, he looked at me. "If that's only a show, you won't punch your own father that time. Maybe, you're only watching it happen while smiling because you know that after that I'll never face you again."

He smirked, but it's obvious to him that he felt guilty a bit and enlightened by the truth, "What title are you planning to put in that kind of story?"

"I'm not forcing you to believe what I just said," I poked his chest, "Because this will tell you that I'm telling the truth. You just need to stand on your responsibility because I don't want our child will grow up without a complete family."

"That's a huge embarrassment to me, especially for you."

I grabbed my bag and left him in the room.

HAXILLA'S POV

Raven sat beside me while eating a bowl of popcorn. I just looked at him when he sighed multiple times in just a short period of time. What's his problem now?

"What do you need?" I asked while scrolling at my phone.

"Hmm? Do I need anything?" He denied, but I know that every time he is doing that beside me, he wants something from me. It's another pair of shoes again, for sure.

"Stop denying, just tell what you want."

"Twins."

I immediately slapped his shoulder when he said that, here he goes again. He is always asking me to make a twin, so Hershey have siblings that can play to, his reasons are so lame to be honest.

"Why did you hit me? You told me to say what I want."

I glared at him and pinched him at the ears that made him to grunt in pain, "Hershey is enough already, okay? Stop wishing for twins, for Pete's sake, Raven."

"Aw, aw alright," I let go of him, he's rubbing his ears while his lips are pouted, "I'm just joking, you're always taking everything so serious."

"Shut up."

"But love," he tapped my arm to make me look at him, "Do you trust Jacob to take care of Selena while Jaxon is gone?"

"Kinda, why did you ask?" I asked him back.

"Nothing," he leaned again at the couch, "Isn't it awkward or something unusual to see the opponent company's CEO is taking care of the wife of another company?"

I shook my head, "What's wrong for helping someone?"

"But, that kind of help is unnecessary to be seen in public. You know how the other people's mind is running."

"Why do you need to be bothered by the others if you're sincerely helping the person?"

He rolled his eyes at me, he is already annoyed, "What if it's all just a show? What if Jacob is just using Selena to get the company?"

I throw the pop corns at his face, "You're overthinking more than I do, stop badmouthing the person who just wants to help."

"You just didn't know how the business world rotates," he looked at me, "You can deceive, making fool, bribe anyone just to settle your position at the top."

He also throws popcorn to my face as he stood up to enter at our room. He is just maybe imagining thing because he's from twenty hours shift at the hospital, it's because of stress.

I stopped eating popcorn when that thought passed again at my mind. He has a point on that, but can Jacob really do that? I dialed Selena's number, it took a few rings before she picked up the call.

"What took you so long to answer your phone?" I asked her.

[I'm sorry. We're painting something when you called.]

"Painting? With whom?"

[Jacob. He brought me to the hospital's garden to paint.]

"Is that so?"

[Yes, why did you call, by the way? Did something happen?]

"Nothing, I just want to check how are you doing."

[Ah, thank you, but I'm fine now. I'm just waiting to tomorrow to come so that I can go home already.]

"Oh, that's good news. Do you want us to pick you up?"

[If that's fine with you.]

"Of course, take care, okay?"

[Yeap, I hang up now. See you.]

I looked at her number when she hung up the call.
