ANDREA
Brody’s sudden blurting out that he had found his mate had caught me off-guard. In fact, I was disappointed because it wasn’t me but still, I tried to be happy for him.
"That’s good news, Brody! I’m happy for you," I say half- hearted.
"Thanks, Andrea. I knew you would. You are the first person I’m telling this to tonight."
"Who is it? Your mate, I mean."
"It’s Valerie. Can you believe it?"
The 'Valerie' Brody was talking about was Valerie Wes.
She is the daughter of Elder Gerald, one of the pack elders and also one of the many persons that most pack members wanted as their mate because not only was she pretty but she was also well mannered.
And let’s not even start with her grades. Valerie wasn’t a beauty without brains. Valerie Wes was Elder Gerald’s pride and joy.
It was like she had it all and now the moon goddess had given her a perfect mate like Brody. Just great!
Seeing Brody overly excited made me want to push him away. "You should go spend some time with her then rather than hanging out here with me."
"No, It’s your birthday. I don’t want to leave you all by yourself."
This... Brody needed to stop acting this way if he didn’t want me getting the wrong idea. "Well, you should. You don’t want people getting the wrong idea now, do you? You now have a mate. Things are different this time."
Damn, what the hell was I saying? Why was tears threatening to cloud my vision? I looked away from Brody so that he wouldn’t notice but he did.
With his hands on either of my shoulders, Brody turned me to face him. "Andrea, what’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing. You, just go find Valerie. It’s not gentlemanly to leave her all alone tonight. What do you expect her to make of that? I’ll be fine."
Before Brody could respond, I ran inside to the ballroom where the festival was holding.
When inside, the fact that no one noticed me or glanced towards my direction made my eyes singed because I mean just when I was outside with Brody he regarded me as 'beautiful'.
This birthday was going on worse than ever. I had rushed inside earlier because I thought inside the festival, I would find other mateless persons like myself and probably feel better afterwards but rather I was surrounded with people with their mates.
"Seriously?" I muttered under my breath, shutting my eyes tightly. Slowly opening my eyes, I move through the couples over to the far end of the ballroom by the window.
Gazing up at the moon, I exhaled. "I guess I’m unlucky again this year. I thought it would be different this time."
I was starting to believe that maybe the problem was me. It was easy for Avery and the rest of my friends when it was their turns last year; so why me? What made me so different?
Glancing over at the wall clock, my eyes followed the clock’s movement. "It would soon be 12 noon." Wrapping my hands around my shoulders, I muttered. "Happy birthday, Andrea."
"Oh, please! Stop acting as if you are all alone." An invincible voice says.
Startled, I looked around for the source of I’ve voice but found no one. "Who are you?"
"Me?" Came the voice again. "I’m Kezav, your wolf. It’s nice to finally meet you, Andrea."
I twitched my lips. "Did the moon goddess send you to me as a 'compensation' gift for not giving me a mate?"
I was already disappointed by the fact that I would have to keep on living without a mate that the appearance of Kezav didn’t excite me.
"The night isn’t over yet" Kezav encourages me.
"Even though. It still sucks."
And to think that I’d been looking forward tonight all day.
The grandfather clock chimed as it was 12 noon. The full moon rose high above the sky, grasping my attention.
Just below the rising moon, I spot the triplet alpha brothers whom were popularly known as the Night howlers as per the stories Avery had told me about them.
They morphed into their wolf forms, howling at the moon three times in sync. As I watched them shift back into their human form, I couldn’t help but fall in love with them.
Since I was always working in the pack house when the alpha brothers weren’t around or in the kitchen, I never got a chance to see them up close as now.
Although all three brothers looked alike, they had a striking, enrapturing different eye color that was used to tell them apart--again, as per Avery said--
Alpha Lucian eyes were grey, Raul’s brown and Nikolai’s crimson but still, they were all breathtakingly handsome.
"I wonder what brought them to the festival" I say, voicing out my thoughts.
As if they’d heard me; in sync, they’d turned towards my direction and our eyes met. I froze unable to move or breathe.
Shit! Had they heard me? What do I do? Were they upset or irritated that a lowly omega as myself was curious about them?
Dear Goddess, I really shouldn’t have come here tonight.
The longer I maintained eye contact, the more I shivered in my stead because it felt as if they were staring right into my soul from my eyes.
Kezav, my wolf started jumping excitedly, twirling around in circles making me break off our eye contact. "Kezav, what’s wrong?"
"MATE!" she screamed.
I blinked twice, confused. "What did you just say?"
"MATE! OUR MATE!"
I stilled, finally grasping her words as I could feel it too. My mate is amongst one of the three alpha brothers. The question now is; which one? "Which one of them is my mate?"
"Which one?" Kezav repeats. "All three of them!"
It felt surreal; like I’d gotten more than I had wished for as I had not just one; but three mates and they just happened to be Lady Meade’s brothers who were also Brody’s cousins.
RAULJust as we were about to leave the festival after having lost all hope, I felt it; a strange yet familiar presence followed by an ever-sweet aroma. The minute my eyes made contact with the girl by the window, we chorused."MATE!"My excitement about my newfound mate was replaced with confusion once I realised that my brothers had chosen the same thing as me. Turning to face Lucian, I questioned. "What did you say?"Lucian had a strong expression, showing that he wasn’t equally delighted with the outcome of that night. "That’s what I’m supposed to be asking you. I’m the first Alpha. If there’s anyone she’s supposed to belong to, it’s me!""Do you two really want to fight right now?" Nikolai interrupts us. "We’d just found our mate after so many years."I reasoned with Nikolai’s words. "Nikolai’s right! We’ll settle this later. For now, let’s take her home with us." Corking up a brow at Lucian, I questioned. "Would you like to do the honours or should I?" Don’t get me wrong, I wa
ANDREA As Lady Meade escorts me to an available room in the pack house, I couldn’t help but feel anxious and excited at the same time. Excited because I was in the pack house and not the Omega’s cabin; because now I felt like an actual member of the pack and not some cast out slave. This must have been how Avery felt when she found her mate last year and moved out of the Omega’s cabin. The pack house was way different from the omega’s cabin. It was a two story building mansion with the up floor specifically for the Alpha’s and their mates while the down floor was for the Beta’s. The floor was heavily laded with a silver carpet that spread throughout the down floor. Anyway, that is all about my excitement to move into the pack house. I was anxious because I was alone with Lady Meade and whenever we were alone; she always maltreated me. "But not anymore," Kezav says as if reading my mind. "You aren’t who you were before last night; you’re the pack’s Luna now." That’s right! M
ANDREA "This is so unfair," I whispered to myself as tears slid down my cheeks. I felt my wolf purr as she tried to soothe me. It only made me more agitated. I had finally found my mates, but they didn’t care about me. Oh, they did, but just to cure their curses. I was such a fool to think that they had cared for me at all. They only thought about themselves, and nothing more, but this wouldn’t keep happening anymore. I was going to show them that I was not some foot-mat for their satisfaction, but I had no idea how. "Andrea?" I wiped my tears with the back of my hands as I turned around to see the second alpha looking right at me. I knew he was the one thanks to the smile on his face. It was friendly at best, but I knew it was a bit fickle. His grey eyes were turning almost black in the sunlight, and I had to look away as fast as I could, so I wouldn’t get confused with the whole thing. Slowly, I tried to get up, but my knee sunk into the earth, making it a bit difficult to stan
ANDREA’S POV I held the empty plate in my hand, staring at the scrapes remaining underneath. I was not eating like a queen when I used to be nothing but a slave. The fact that things could change overnight was so shocking, and even though life was not at its best right now, I was filled with gratefulness. The urge to wake up so early to serve had fled from deep inside me, and I could stay indoors for as long as I could. I sighed in pleasure, placing the bowl beside me. It was at that moment that a knock sounded at the door. "Come in, please," I said easily. The maid stepped into the room with a smile on her face. "I didn’t mean to distract you, my lady," she said politely. I blinked. "You can call me, Andrea," I said quickly. She shook her head as she clung her fingers together. "I’m sorry, my lady, but the Alpha would have my neck if I make that mistake." "But, we are in front of him," I argued. She smiled then, as though she found me quite hilarious. "You see, if I don’t sta
LUCIAN Ugh! Raul was always so quick on his feet. It was one of his greatest gifts, and it turned my stomach so bad. My fingers clutched to the sides in anger as I watched them both interact. I still wanted to howl to the goddess so bad. She was the cause of all this. If she had given us individual mates, maybe, it would be easier? I had no idea, but I strongly believed that it would have been. I sighed as I watched Raul and Andrea talk like they had known each other for years. She smiled softly, and I wondered if she would ever smile at me that way. I have not dared to meet her since she arrived. I didn’t even know... With a grunt, I turned away from them. If I looked at them more than was necessary, I might go insane and that was the least I wanted to do at this point. I had to be sane for my people, and figure out a way to boost my confidence to speak to her. She was not just another woman, she was my mate- my soul mate. 'Lucian,' Father called through the mind link. Subconsc
ANDREA’S POV Ugh! It was so nice to wander away from the pack, even if it were for a couple of minutes. Whistling, I pulled the door open as I tried to step over the threshold, only for me to bump into a hard male. I almost fell backwards, but this soul grabbed my hand. I gasped as I was pulled forward. My freehand easily rested on Lucian’s hard chest. As his grey eyes settled on mine, I felt my heart skip a bit. "I..." He blinked as he let go of me, and I felt my heartbeat race in awareness of him. I slowly slid my hair behind my ears, scolding myself for feeling the heat of the mate bond. I had to always remember that these boys wanted as a form of bandaid. "I’m sorry," I managed when he wouldn’t say anything. Lucian shrugged in response, his face as hard as ice. "I wasn’t looking where I was going. Excuse me," he said tersely as he made a move to go. I blinked away my shock, as I placed my hand on his arm to stop him from moving. He turned over to face m, his expression unrea
ANDREA’S POVI stared at Meade and remembered all the times that she made my life hell as the pack slave. I knew she was dying to continue the whole thing in the pack house, but it was left to me to see if she could get away with it or not. I didn’t want her to this time. I turned my attention to the rest of the dinning members and straightened up a bit with a smile on my face."Well, I don’t need to choose," I said softly."Says who?" Meade asked coldly.I turned over to her. "Me," I said simply. I enjoyed the way she seemed to blanch at my words, as she stabbed her fork into her plate. "The goddess has blessed me with three men, and I wouldn’t change that for anything, because they are all mine," I sassed. There were whistles around the table, and I turned to see Alpha Ian smiling at me softly. I smiled back as I clasped my hands in front of me. "I thank the goddess that she gave such a smart woman to my sons. Andrea said it right, and there is no need for further conversations on
LUCIAN’S POV I pulled my door open and the first thing I saw was a beauty staring right at me. Andrea was looking at me coyly as she held a tray up. I couldn’t see most of the outfit, but I loved the way the shirt seemed to flay around her body. "What are you doing here?" I asked as I mentally shook my head. She swallowed and I noted the blush she had on. "Well, I thought that we should eat breakfast since the dinner date didn’t quite work as planned. But, this is probably the wrong time to come in here, so I would take my leave." "No!" I cried at once. She lifted a delicate brow at me, and I simply moved out of her way, noting the way her eyes seemed to follow my chest hair. I wondered vaguely what her wolf thought of me. Did they excited? If they did, then, it could be easier to get her to free me of the curse. Andrea tore her eyes of my chest as she walked further into my room. Her eyes noted the dark wood and brown carpets easily. Everything about me was dark, and I didn’t i
