“J?”
“Lyra?” the man muttered too, shock written on his face.
Both stared at each other for quite a while enjoying the intoxicating scents of each other while being lost in each others eyes.
The chemistry, arousal and sexual tension was thick in the air.One could even taste it.
Lyra’s Dad knew better than to let them continue their ogling.
“Hm-hm” he cleared his throat. “You know each other?”
“Yes” Lyra said breaking the stare. I met him back at the New York. The Crescent Pack.
“You did?” her Dad said as he stepped forward in between them staring hardly at Jasper.
“You were not supposed to see her or meet her until today. You know the rules” her Dad gritted, annoyance seeping through his words.
“Davies” Jasper started as he stepped forward hoping the act would calm Lyra’s Dad. “I had no idea who she was when we met”
“Dad, what do you mean rules?” Lyra said ignoring their dialogue.
“Both Alphas are not meant to see you nor have any thing to do with you until you return.”
“Why?”
“Because that is when the competition for your love starts. Him meeting you before the time, is considered cheating because you would know him, must have had feelings for him and would definitely chose him.”
“And what is wrong with that?” Lyra asked further.
“The fact that you've already had feelings for him before coming here is wrong. He is already leading the other Alpha now. Because of this your judgement and choice would be blinded. Lyra, the fate of our pack’s leadership depends on you. You have to do this right. Not just for yourself, but for the pack too.”
Lyra understood her father's words. He had a point. Her gaze flickered to Jasper and the sadness in his eyes and fallen expression made her heart ache. She felt like she had to do something. After all, he was there to save her that night.
“Dad, you can't tell anyone.” Lyra started.
“What?” both men exclaimed.
“Yes, you can’t, because he saved me. I had just turned 18, so I and the other girls were forced to go vegan for the week. So I sneaked out to get something to eat. I tried saving someone that some guys were beating and ended up being beaten. Jasper stepped in just in time to save me, so please daddy, promise me you won't let him lose me because he tried to save me”

Few days after Lyra had met Jasper back at the Crescent Pack, she could not seem to get her mind off him. His piercing stormy eyes that glittered under the light of that hot afternoon was imprinted in her memory.
After having the arguments in her head, she came to a conclusion of finding more about this man that seemed to have a great impact on her.
She decided to see Tyler. The two guys seemed to know each other. Maybe, Tyler could play cupid.
She left her dorm to sneak out as usual, maybe she could get her raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes and finally satisfy her craving.
Just as she had squeezed her puny body through the tiny space, she walked face into a man. She could not get his scent and she found it weird but waved it off immediately she saw his face.
It was Jasper. The same guy she was just about to find things about.
“Oh, a sneaky one, I like it” he said as a toothy grin graced his facial features.
She was beyond dumbfounded. “Uh, hi.. are you stalking me?”She said immediately she was able to find her words.
“What?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Of course. He wouldn't be stalking her especially in the place he found her. And she hated the fact that he found her in her worst situations.
“Never mind, uh, I got to go” she said as she turned to leave.
He stopped her and handed a pendant to her. “I found this in the fight scene. I figured it would be yours. I asked Jasper and he asked me to wait around here”
“Why didn't you give it to Jasper?” she asked. It was her turn to raise an eyebrow.
“I wanted to see you once more before I return to my pack.” He confessed.
Lyra stared at him trying to decipher if he was telling the truth. She felt something was off about him but she couldn't quite pinpoint it
“Where are you headed?” he asked.

Lyra and Jasper sat in silence, eating raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes. Jasper had walked Lyra to Tyler’s corner.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t there. Jasper had offered to follow Lyra to the coffee shop.
“What pack are you from?” Jasper asked, breaking the silence.
“Umm..” Lyra said choking on her food. “Dark hills pack” she lied through her teeth. “what about you?”
“Salem pack” he muttered looking away from her.
“There is something really shady about you, I can't pinpoint it. I can't even get your scent. I knew I scented you that day I saw you but I can't scent anything now” she said advancing forward, staring him dead in the eyes, probing him.
“And you were sneaking out of school and I can't scent yours too, we are even” he muttered.
“Lyra!” Davies, her Dad called pulling her back from memory lane. “Are you good?”
She nodded at him, sending a glance to Jasper.
“I was saying that the reason I came here was to check on you. Immediately after the guy I sent to request your presence told me about his fight and resistance, I knew I had to come in person to make sure you were good.”
She smiled at him. “Thank you, I'm good”
Jasper nodded at her Dad and made his way out leaving daughter and Father.
Just as he turned and opened the door…..
First it was fragrance.
A chocolate musk mixed with aftershave.
Then a man stepped in. With all his Alpha glory, emitting dominance.
Lyra seemed to be an eye person, as she always seemed tonoticed the eye of everyone she met.
Her violet ones, met his grey ones.
It seemed like the world had stopped as she let his scent invade her senses.
He smelled of the forest and weirdly, a trace of the aroma ofraspberry and white chocolate cupcakes.
“Alpha Callum” she heard her Dad whisper in the background.
“Lyra” a deep baritone voice resonated in the room pulling Lyra out of her reverie. His dominance and intimidating aura was palpable. She closed her eyes, attempting to calm herself. It seemed as though a hard task, as she could not stop herself from perceiving his intoxicating scent. She turned to her Dad, opening her eyes. “I'm guessing, he is Callum” she muttered trying to ignore his effect on her.“Alpha Callum” her Dad corrected bowing his neck in reverence to Callum.“Lyra Anderson” Callum began. “I am really sorry for what happened between the two pack members. It was never my intention to send any person to come here to get you.”Lyra nodded at him. She felt like she was placed in an awkward position as she didn't know what to do.“If it would pacify you, he would be disciplined for that” he added.Although he looked calm and poised, his face not revealing any expression, Lyra could see it in his eyes that he was truly sorry.“Disciplined? Don't you think that is too much?” Ly
“Everything doesn’t seem right,” Jasper muttered to himself. He was sitting on the floor of a small room in what had once been his home—a single room with no windows or furniture but for a bed and table that he'd found in the basement. The place smelled like mold and mildew, though it hadn't always. It smelled like life, until everything went wrong. He was cold and angry; the only happiness he could think of was that of Lyra’s.The thoughts of her filled him with warmth, which helped to banish some of his anger. But that didn't help much when there was a knock on the door. He walked to the door and found a member of his pack lying at the foot of the door. He opened the door widely and sighed. "Don't get up.""I should have died," she said, her voice weak. She tried to sit up but couldn't manage more than a few inches.Jasper didn't answer; he just watched her.She coughed. "You need to tell me what happened." He said. She shook her head. "Not yet." He stood for some time and then wal
First it was the sound of chaos. Noise.
