“Lyra” a deep baritone voice resonated in the room pulling Lyra out of her reverie.

His dominance and intimidating aura was palpable.

She closed her eyes, attempting to calm herself. It seemed as though a hard task, as she could not stop herself from perceiving his intoxicating scent.

She turned to her Dad, opening her eyes. “I'm guessing, he is Callum” she muttered trying to ignore his effect on her.

“Alpha Callum” her Dad corrected bowing his neck in reverence to Callum.

“Lyra Anderson” Callum began. “I am really sorry for what happened between the two pack members. It was never my intention to send any person to come here to get you.”

Lyra nodded at him. She felt like she was placed in an awkward position as she didn't know what to do.

“If it would pacify you, he would be disciplined for that” he added.

Although he looked calm and poised, his face not revealing any expression, Lyra could see it in his eyes that he was truly sorry.

“Disciplined? Don't you think that is too much?” Lyra said.

“I had in mind to come and see you myself, introduce myself and form a cordial relationship with you and not request for your presence like I am some King and you are just a subject. After all, if I succeed, you would be my Luna. My equal”

Lyra had never felt the sudden rush and swell in her heart at his heartwarming words. She only smiled.

Callum could understand her smile.

“You do not have to punish the dude tho, he thought he was just doing the right thing”

“Yes, he thought so.” Callum interrupted, “But you are my mate. The relationship I am to build with you is between the both of us. He has no right to act like that. He might have thought it right to do so after seeing that a follower of Jasper was heading here. But it ended up going the wrong way.”

He stopped and then went on. “I have spoken to my people and I hope him being disciplined would teach the rest a lesson to not get involved in my love life”

Lyra nodded at him. He sounded and acted really strict but it was for the right reasons. That was what a good leader would do.

“I just hope the discipline meted out to him would not be much” Lyra said, a hint of worry lacing her words.

“Of course Miss Lyra.” He said with a toothy smile.

It was the first time she saw him smile. She could feel her insides screaming at her to jump on this guy but she just smiled back.

“Would I be asking too much if I invite you to the pack house. Maybe I could give you a tour of the place” he asked further.

For a split second, Lyra thought he seemed as a cute little puppy. She wanted to say yes, but she felt it would be disrespectful, especially to Jasper.

She had even forgotten they were there. Her perceiving sense kicked in when she began to feel tension in the room.

Jasper glared daggers at Callum and Callum looked like he didn't give a damn.

“I'd love to, b_”

“How dare you!” Jasper thundered as he took a menacing step towards Callum.

Lyra could swear that she heard her Dad let out a whimper.

The air visibly became thick as the tension between the two Alphas was palpable.

“Jasp_”

“You saw me here, obviously with her and you barge in asking her out for tour!” Jasper boomed.

Callum never took his eyes off her. He smiled at her expecting a reply.

It seemed as though Jasper had not said a single word to Callum.Callum ignored him with such vigor that would make Lyra question herself if she heard Jasper speak or it was her imagination.

“Umm, can w_”

She got interrupted when Jasper lunched a punch on Callum. Callum dove out of the way just in time.

Missing Callum's face and heading straight to the door, the force with which Jasper used created a hole in the door.

Jasper picked up a fragment of the wood and aimed it at Callum, but he dodged it again. Callum picked it up and just as he was about to aim it at Jasper, Lyra stood in the way.

It was already late as it had left his hands and was heading straight to Lyra’s forehead.

Everything happened in slow motion before Lyra’s eyes.

The force and speed it was coming with, she knew she would not be able to dodge it. So she watched it coming straight to her, piercing through the air, moving with a high velocity.

She squeezed her eyes shut waiting for the impact but there was none. All she felt was a gust of wind.

Well, either she was dead and was in heaven with the moon goddess, or, the afterlife was just like life on earth.

She opened her eyes only to see both Alphas holding the wood by both ends, mere inches away from her face.

It dawned on her that even though both Alphas were at each others throat, they would do anything to save her. After all, they both fancied her.

She walked away from them, heading straight to the door, signaling them to leave.

Both men stared at each other, it was like a battle of sight, as none refused to back down, the splinter of wood right between them, each holding an edge.

Callum walked away from Jasper and left the building, not afterapologizing to Lyra.

“I am really sorry for the way things turned out again, I’d really love to make it up to you if you'd love to see my pack house.”

When he did not get a reply from her, he walked away, returning to his abode.

Jasper followed Callum's footsteps and left, leaving both father and daughter.

“Lyra” Davies said. “You really need to do chose, and be fast.” He continued. “The pack has been at war between itself. It would bring a lot of peace and good for the pack to live in harmony as a pack once again. EVERYTHING IS ON YOUR SHOULDERS. MAKE US, OR BREAK US.
