Maya slowly shook her head, holding her palm out to the light and staring at her claws. The tips were sharp and curved, tinted a deep shade of ebony that contrasted with her fair skin.

Her lips curled in disgust, finding it unpleasant. She sighed and covered her hands with gloves, as it took at least an hour for her stupid wolf to let her return to human form. She longed to be free of her wolf side, and the idea of having two personalities repulsed her; she needed to shed her Lycan traits and become fully human.

Based on her limited research, she had a few options. She could either ask a powerful elder Lycan or a shaman for assistance with spells and rituals, or she could undergo genetic modification. The second option sounded more reliable, but she had no idea how to proceed.
