Ashanti laughed at Maya's shock as they drove past the Lycan border. Maya's mouth widened and her jaw slackened; she stared openly and was rendered speechless.

Ashanti had secretly hoped that her daughter would be captivated by the beauty of Lycan pack, and it seemed that her prayers were being answered. The entrance gate, adorned with a fierce wolf head and gleaming gold, was the first thing Maya noticed.

"Oh my goodness, Mom, this place looks so unreal," she exclaimed, rolling down the car window.

Ashanti breathed in the crisp, fresh scent of spring flowers, as well as the salty sea breeze that carries marine life. "I told you you would like it, didn't I?" she asked her daughter, pointing to the historical landmarks.

"When you said this place was surreal, I assumed you were lying. I expected caves and barbarians everywhere, not these stylish streets and massive skyscrapers," Maya exclaimed.
