One Hundred and One

After an uninterrupted ten-hour sleep, Maya's eyes popped open, and she experienced a burst of satisfaction. A relaxed smile crossed her face, and her head tilted slightly to the side. She enjoyed the feel of the silk pillows and the perfect weather.

She felt alive.

Yawning, she stretched her body to wake up her muscles, wondering what had changed. It was as if she had a shift ever since she stepped into this pack, like magic, sparking happiness and bringing her to life.

She didn't want to believe that her mom was right all along and that maybe being a Lycan wasn't a death sentence. But what happens when it is time to go? She would go back and experience the hollowness she'd always felt in the human world.

Her mom could never live with the Lycans. Not only was she attached to the human world, but she also had a husband and tons of businesses to attend to. A bell pierced through the air, and Maya rushed to the window, curious to know what was happening.
