ENZO’s POV. With my back pressing against the chair, I let out a heavy sigh. I have not slept a wink since yesterday night. After feeding Michelle dinner, I helped her to bed and came back to my study. I have a lot of work to finish off and it is taking a lot of time. I have two surgeries scheduled for the next seven hours and some pack issues I need to take care of. Just a day away from Los Angeles and my table is packed full with work. My musing is interrupted when my mobile begins to beep. At first I want to ignore the call but on second thought, I pick up the phone and my eyes darken at the sight of the caller. The nerves!! I click on the receive button before pressing the phone against my ear. “Why have you called?” “I am in front of your house Enzo” Avra’s voice filters into my ear, “let’s have a talk” “The nerve of you to show up in front of my house, Avra” I growl in anger, “how dare you?” “You can do what you chose to me Enzo, I really need to see you”

MICHELLE’s POV. With one last look at the mirror, I nod at myself before making my way out of the room. Today is my appointment with the doctor Enzo recommended and I am feeling optimistic about it. I have a feeling that I would hear some good news in a few hours and I am excited. Luckily after that day at the hospital, the pain subsided but I still felt it on a few occasions. Earlier, Enzo sent me a message saying he would be late since he has a surgery at the hospital and he told me one of his men will bring me to the hospital. He made breakfast before leaving and I can’t help but feel indebted to him, he has treated me so nicely that I can not thank him enough. Looking at myself again, I nod again. I am dressed in a pair of denim flay pants and a white long sleeve shirt to go with it and I pull my hair into a messy bun. ENZO’s POV. As soon as Michelle crashes into my embrace, I pull her into my arms and she rests her head against my chest. I hate the fact that she is in so much pain and I can do little or less to help her. I hate seeing pain in her eyes, I hate seeing her cry but right now even with all the power I have, I am unable to help her. “Give us a moment, Lawrence” I tell him and he nods before making his way out of the examination room leaving the two of us. I allow her to cry until I can only hear her whimpers then I slowly disengage from her. “Do you feel better now?” “I don’t want to lose my baby, Enzo” Michelle tells me, “i really don’t want to” “Look here princess” I gently grab a hold of her hand, “you trust me yeah?” “Hmmm” she nods softly. “You have a long life ahead of you and you can not allow such a thing to pull you back. You can have as many babies as you want in the future, let’s get rid of this one and you can.. “No!!” Michelle immediately interrupts me

MICHELLE’s POV. I actually find its very hard to believe that the Enzo seated beside me is the same Enzo Philips that has taken the world storm in a few years. I am not particularly versed in Avanti but i knew how big the brand was and how people wanted to work with it. Even Nicholas had made mention of wanting to venture into the fashion industry and patner with Avanti. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think i would he in the same space with him but here he is, sitting beside me with a smug look on his face. I didn’t even get to complete my thoughts when Enzo brings the car to a sudden halt and turns his head to me abruptly. “Can you feel that?” He asks me and my forehead creases into a slight frown. “What do you mean?” I ask him back. “I can hear your thoughts” he drops the bombshell and I gulp, what kind of a crazy maniac is he? How can he say something like this? How can he hear my thoughts? “What are you talking about now?” “I am fucking serious” he rasped

ENZO’s POV. One thing I hate the most in my life is when someone lies to me or tries to take me for granted and that is exactly what Diego and his pack are trying to do. Neither has he returned Hakeem and Melisa and why the hell did he send his right hand beta to spy on me. Thinking about It, I want to cut off all his fingers with this plier but remembering the lady watching me from the screens, I calm down. “I will ask you one last time, why are you here?” “You can as well kill me” he growls in anger and I scoff. Is he kidding me right now? Killing him is just a piece of cake for me. “You know I do not understand what kind of a leader Diego is” I say to him, “sending you to my pack house to spy on me? MICHELLE’s POV. I can feel the color rush on my face as I watch Enzo make his way out of the room. Isn’t he the weirdest? How can he do and say something like that so casually? My insides are heating up and I feel all giddy with excitement, gosh!!. Even Nicholas didn’t make the butterflies in my stomach run around like this and this man has been doing it since the day I set my eyes on him. “It seems we are in for a big trouble” my wolf says inside of me and I gulp, i really I am in for a big bag of trouble right now. “Aren’t you coming?” His voice filters into my ear. “On my way” I call after him before rushing out of the room. The drive back to the house is a silent one, Enzo keeps on receiving calls while I just focus my attention on the road ahead. I have a lot of things going on in my head and I am glad he is busy, I don't even know how to answer his question yet. ENZO’s POV. Michelle’s scream alerts me and I immediately sit up, before I can even ask her anything, my eyes catch the blood stain on the bed and for real, my heart skips a beat. I didn’t notice the blood when I came to lie down beside her so how did this happen? My mind is in turmoil right now, I am not sure if she is having a miscarriage or it is because of the tumor. “Snap out of it” my wolf growls inside of me and I snap back to reality. Tears are streaming down her eyes and she looks scared, very scared. “Hey” I hold onto her cheek, “I will take you to the hospital, okay?” “My babies” her muffled voice reaches my ears, “I can not lose my babies, Enzo. I….” Michelle’s voice trails off. “You will not lose your babies” I try to assure her, even if somewhere in my mind I am scared. MICHELLE’s POV. Standing in front of the mirror, I can not help but admire myself. The knee length dress looks so good with the gemstones on it. The slit running up my thighs gives it a more subtle look and I can not help but fall in love with it. I am certain Enzo designed this himself seeing how simple yet stunning it looks. How can a man be versed in a lot of things, surely he is the moon goddess’s favorite and I can swear on that. My musing is cut short when the door opens and Enzo saunters in. For a moment he is speechless as his eyes travel over me.
