Chapter 41; Double Attention

Becky’s POV

The story was all over the news!

“It is all over the news!” Frank said, surprised.

I was speechless. I hadn’t noticed any newsagents there, but they had been.

I watched the story and blushed as I was called a hero.

“I am not a hero!” I groaned, switching off the TV.

“You are,” Frank insisted. “You were very brave, and I am so glad you are okay.”

“Thank you.”

“And I need to explain what happened on Sunday,” Frank said.

I stopped him, “You have already apologized.”

“I need to explain.” He held my hand. “I really have feelings for you, Becky, and I was disappointed that you didn’t seem to realize it. But that was no excuse to act the way I did.”

“I didn’t realize it at first, but when I did, I meant to call you and explain too.” I sighed. “I like you Frank, I do, but not that way. I don’t want anything romantic right now, I just want us to be friends,” I explained.

“Why? I am not putting pressure on you, it is just that I care about you, and I would like you to consider it.
