AN ALPHA’S MURDERER.

Raven’s point of view.

“Will you prove your worth to me by completing this task?”

“Yes alpha,” I said, an idea forming in my mind. “I will proceed right away,” I said and turned to leave.

“Wait!” Fenrir said. “That is your next task.”

“What is my first task then?” I asked, in confusion.

“I want you to go to Alpha Damien’s territory. He is an ally so you do need to sneak in, tell his soldiers Fenrir sent you.” Fenrir said and stepped forward, now standing by my side.

“And what shall I say or do whilst I am in Alpha’s Damien territory?” I asked.

“You shall discuss an alliance with him,” Fenrir said. “Do not bother asking about the details of the alliance, just do as you’re told and report to me everything he says.”

My throat felt tight, this would be harder than I thought.

“Go now... his territory is a stone's throw from mine.”

“You should be there in an hour, and make sure you go straight to business,” Fenrir said.

“Best of luck.” He added and walked away.

I stood at the border of his territory, two thoughts running in my mind.

Should I tell Ryker about Fenrir’s plan or should I go to Damien’s territory and talk about this mysterious alliance?

Deciding to play safe, I began my journey to Alpha Damien’s territory.

An hour later, I was standing in front of Alpha Damien in his private chamber.

“Raven, what brings you to my territory?” He asked, his eyes narrowed at me.

I gulped, how come he knows my name?

I took a deep breath and gathered myself, maintaining my composure.

“Alpha,” said and bowed my head in respect. “Fenrir has sent me to discuss an alliance with you?”

“Alpha Fenrir you say?” Alpha Damien said, his eyes blazing with fury. “Why is he not here himself? Why did he send you, Raven?”

“That is not in my place to answer,” I said, my voice low. “For I am merely a servant carrying out her master’s orders.”

“Servant?” Alpha Damien asked, his voice shaped and accusing. “What kind of servant are you and how much trust did he place in you that he would send you instead of coming himself?”

“Like I said, alpha. It is not in my place to answer, only Fenrir knows why he placed so much trust in me and sent me to discuss this alliance with you.” I answered, my head still bowed.

“Trust you say?” Alpha Damien asked and took a step forward. “Do you think I am a fool, Raven? You are working for Ryker. He has sent you to sow discord between us. To ruin Fenrir and myself”

My blood ran cold and my throat felt dry. I was shaking in fear.

“No, Alpha please,” I said, and took a step forward. “Fenrir trusts me. He has assigned such an important and confidential task to me, why would I betray him?”

“Because I know everything about you, Raven, the daughter of Ragnar, Alpha of the Vixen Pack. I heard all you told Ryker as you left his pack. I know all about your plans to infiltrate Fenrir’s pack and kill him from the inside.” Damien said, a murderous look in his eyes.

I knew my cover was blown, but I still tried to salvage the situation.

“Please alpha,” I said, my voice pleading. “All you heard was an act. I was only acting on Fenrir’s orders.”

“Lies! You lie Raven. You are an enemy and a big threat, you should not be spared.” Alpha Damien growled at me.

“Please Alpha,” I said, taking a step back.

His close swiped at me and missed me.

I braced myself for his attack and was determined to face him head-on.

Alpha Damien lunged himself forward, his claws aiming at my neck.

I met with his attack, and we both held each other’s claws.

I could feel the raw power radiating from his body.

I knew I stood no chance against such a formidable opponent.

“I will drag you on the floor and take you back to Fenrir. I will expose your true colors before him. I will also drag your family to him and make them watch as Fenrir tears you limb from limb.” Damien said and grabbed my neck with his left claw.

His claw dig deep into my flesh and I could feel the blood oozing out, I felt like my life was being sucked away from me.

Alpha Damien threw me across the room and I landed on the floor with a rib-cracking sound.

I scrambled to my feet and picked up a stick.

“Stay away from me and we can pretend this never happened,” I warned Alpha Damien.

“You must be a bigger fool than your father, Raven. If you think you are ever going to get out of here, then you lie. Your corpse will be the only thing leaving this room.” Damien said and lunged himself forward.

He slapped the stick from my hand, and his claw got my right hand. He pushed my face to the wall.

I let out a cry of pain, he was going to crush my skull if this continued. To my utter surprise, he let go of me.

I staggered, and my vision became blurry and distorted.

Before I realized what was happening, Alpha Damien pulled my hair, threatening to yank it off its root.

“Please... spare me.” I cried out in pain, in a desperate attempt to save my life.

“You should have thought twice before plotting against Fenrir and me,” Damien growled and pushed me to the wall.

I collided against the wall, my face covered in blood, could barely see anything.

I wiped my face with my hand, and finally, I saw a sword on his bed.

Rushing to his bed, I picked up the sword and charged at him, driving the sword through his stomach.

I pulled the sword out, and Damien’s lifeless body fell to the ground.

I stood there, my bloody hands trembling.

 “I just killed an alpha.”
