RAVEN’s POV.As Fenrir stood at my doorstep, his gaze met mine. I felt a shiver run down my spine, but I tried to maintain my composure, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing me worried or anxious. Raven’s POV.I took a step back, my eyes fixed on the masked figure. "What do you know?" I spat, trying to keep my voice steady.The figure chuckled, a low, menacing sound that sent shivers down my spine and goosebumps all over my body. "I know you killed Alpha Damien," he said. "I saw you, Raven.”My heart skipped a beat as his words hit me. How did he know? I thought I had been so careful. I had covered my tracks and made sure no one saw me. Raven’s POV.I paced back and forth in my room, my mind racing with thoughts of Ryker and the mysterious meeting. I had tried everything to get in touch with him during the day, but he was nowhere to be found. And now, with the meeting just hours away, I was starting to panic."What am I going to do?" I whispered to myself. I stopped pacing and looked around my room as if the solution would pop out, but there was none.The voice in my head was quick to respond. "You're going to go to the meeting, Raven. You have to know who this person is and what they want." I"But what if it's a trap?" I argued, my mind racing with fear. "What if Fenrir is behind this?" I thought about all the ways this could go wrong, all the ways I could be caught. All the ways Fenrir could choose to kill me. The voice sneered. "You're not going to let fear control you, are you? My mind was a jumble of thoughts, each one more terrifying than the last, as I thought back to the night I accepted the Ryker deal and the hot mess it had landed me in. Damien's lifeless body, Fenrir's accusations; my father’s pack hanging at the end of a cliff, all threatened to overwhelm me. Alpha Fenrir approached me, his eyes blazing with anger. I looked up at him and I bit my lower lip trying to calm my nerves. “Why is he mad? Did you do something? Do you think he found out the truth about you? Do you think he found out that you were sent by Ryker to spy on him? Is he mad because you lied to him?” The voice in my head pressed. I closed my eyes, hoping to get rid of the thoughts and calm my nerves. Whatever made him mad, I am about to find out.
