74. Meet Marco

Caterina turned to the source of the voice. She glared, visibly displeased by Leonardo's presence there. She didn't say a word. After chuckling, she went to the garage and pulled out Alex's car.

“Why does it have to be Alex? You could have borrowed my car.” Leonardo commented when he saw Caterina busy getting Alex's car out. He felt annoyed and jealous because Caterina chose Alex over him.

The orange sports car started driving at a moderate speed out of the gate. At the gate he was intercepted by the gatekeeper. No matter how hard Caterina tried to explain, the gatekeeper did not allow Caterina to get out of the fence.

“I allowed her to go to buy medicine; just open the gate.” Leonardo gave the order through a handy talky.

After getting the order, the guard opened the gate. Caterina immediately drove her car onto the highway. The car was traveling at breakneck speed.

Leonardo followed. He drove a normal car so as not to attract attention. He also drove his car without being followed by his men, because he only wanted to spy on where Caterina was going. If Caterina turns out to go to see Marco, he will kill Marco right then and there.

The streets were quite busy this afternoon. There were many vehicles passing by; fortunately, Leonardo did not lose track. He is used to following enemies on the streets, so it is not a difficult thing for him to follow Caterina. Moreover, Caterina drove irresponsibly.

The sports car stopped at a downtown pharmacy. It was just as Caterina had said; she wanted to go to the pharmacy.

The beautiful woman got out of the car with a list of medicine notes that she had to buy. She looked focused at the notes as she walked towards the pharmacy building ahead.

Leonardo opened the dashboard drawer of the car. He took out a black hat and also a mask. He got out wearing it as a disguise so that Caterina would not recognize him immediately. He followed Caterina's steps to enter the building.

It was quite crowded, so Caterina had to take a number in line. She sat in a chair waiting for her name to be called. It was quite boring indeed. Moreover, she did not bring a cell phone because until now Leonardo had not allowed her to hold a cell phone. It was to avoid Caterina communicating with Marco.

They waited for a long time until Caterina's queue number was called. She went to the pharmacist and gave him a note for the medicine she wanted.

“This medicine must be prescribed by a doctor.” The pharmacist made a comment.

Caterina took out her ID card as a doctor. She had gotten the ID when she worked at the hospital.

Everything went smoothly. There was nothing suspicious. Once settled, Caterina came out and walked towards the parking lot.

Leonardo was relieved that Caterina had really only gone to the pharmacy to buy medicine. She was fine too, so there was nothing to worry about.

“Kate!” The call made Caterina turn her head.

It was Marco who was running towards her. The man looked like he missed Caterina after not seeing her for a few days.

“Marco.” Caterina looked both confused and surprised. Why did they meet in a place like this? “Why were you there?” Caterina asked in confusion. She looked around, searching for an answer.

“I got information from my men that you were out alone, so I came to meet you.” Marco explained briefly.

“What do you want?”

“I don't want anything. I just miss you.” The man answered honestly.

Caterina was silent.

“You don't miss me?” Marco looked at her with an expectant look. There was at least a little bit of longing in Caterina's heart after what they had been through. They had spent so much time together.

“You know I can't stay out for long. My father is waiting for me.” Caterina replied heavily.

“Waiting for you? Isn't Dante dead?”

Caterina shook her head. “My father has woken up from his coma. I want to take care of him until he can fully recover.”

Marco was silent after he heard that answer. Dante had woken up from his coma? How was that possible? Wasn't he already dead? Marco was wide-eyed; he was completely shocked. The man had suddenly paled.

“Are you okay?” Caterina asked reassuringly. She stared with a furrowed brow. “You look pale.”

“I'm fine.” Marco's voice sounded a little shaky. He was afraid that if Dante fully recovered and told Caterina that he was the one who shot Dante, not Leonardo. He feared Caterina would hate him and no longer want to see him.

“Of course he's pale. She's afraid Dante will tell you that it was he who shot your father.” Leonardo suddenly jumped in.
