(Migumi’s POV)
Looking at the stranger’s face, I can't help but fall in love with his ocean blue eyes. There was nothing like those blue orbs he’s got and it feels like it’s melting me the more I stare at them.
Then, a hint of realization hit me when the man opened his mouth to speak again.
“Who did this to you?” His voice was low, but the anger simmered just beneath the surface, threatening to boil over. That's when I realized that I’m still clinging myself to the stranger like a drowning person grasping onto a lifebuoy.
I immediately pull away from him. I almost forgot about the guards chasing me!
I have to keep running!
Just when I was about to flee, my sprained ankle decided to betray me, causing me to lose my balance. I closed my eyes, preparing to crash on the ground when I felt a pair of strong arms encircled around my waist, saving me from the fall.
My face pressed against his hard chest. I could hear his racing heart and heavy breathing from there. It’s almost like it wants to speak to me.
I looked at the man to see his face and that's when everything started to blur. I couldn't see his face clearly earlier because my mind was clouded with anxiety but with his reassuring grip, I can finally see his handsome face with clarity.
His eyes filled with concern and tenderness. He brings his hand to fix the strands of hair covering my face.
“Don’t be afraid. I won't hurt you…” he assured, making me forget all my worries for a moment. His voice was deep and powerful as he whispered soothing words to me. It almost felt like I was in a different world where only him and I are present.
My eyes stopped at tall nose to his moving lips down to his chiseled jawline. Even his messy brown hair is effortlessly making him so handsome.
How can someone look this perfect?
The sense of security I’m feeling in his arms is surreal. It almost feels like I have finally met my mate in his character. Maybe, life wasn't as cruel to me as I thought.
Maybe, just maybe, I’ve found my true mate.
“T—Thank you,” I said in a small voice, almost too faint to be heard.
In spite of his unwavering tenderness, I still didn't feel safe to reveal the true story behind my scars. I still can't change the fact that I met him not far away from the pack. He might know Alpha Cyrus for all I know.
The familiar anxiety began to take over me once again when I heard the rustling of the leaves from afar.
They're coming!
In an instant, the werewolves that were following me surrounded us.
My grip on the stranger’s chest tightened.
I’m doomed…

(Author’s POV)
The werewolves under the cruel Alpha’s command stood in shock when they found their target in the hands of the werewolf prince. His hands firmly groped around her waist, a silent declaration that he would defend her against any threat, no matter the cost.
One of the loyal guards sent a message to Alpha Cyrus about the anomaly through mind-link,
“Alpha Cyrus, urgent news demands your attention…”
His voice resonated in the Alpha’s consciousness. The latter who was following their trail behind recognized the voice of his Beta.
“Did you find her?” he asked, his voice rumbling like a distant thunder.
The guard glanced at the intimidating royal prince once again. “Alpha, the woman has fallen into the embrace of the werewolf prince,” he reported.
Alpha Cyrus froze in place.
His fists turned into a hard rock, thinking about what he’ll find once he arrives at the scene. He couldn't believe that Migumi hasn't escaped from his eyes that long and she has already found another man to cling herself into.
“She’s such a whore…”
The furious Alpha stormed through the dark forest to confront the woman himself.
Upon arrival, he was greeted by the werewolf prince’s tenderness with Migumi. She was clutching her wound with fear in her eyes as she looked at the surrounding werewolves around them. The royal prince met his gaze.
With a cold smile plastered on the cruel Alpha’s face, he persuaded the frightened Omega, “It’s time to return to your chambers, my love. It’s getting cold and you're barefooted,” earning a frown from Alpha Aidem who didn't seem to believe his forced calm demeanor. “Come, my love.”
The frail woman winced as soon as offers his hand to her. And that was the confirmation of the royal prince that Alpha Cyrus was indeed the person behind her mate’s injuries.
Afraid, she clings her hands into Alpha Aiden’s arm like a kid. She shook her head desperately like her life depended on it.
With a trembling voice, she opened her mouth to speak, “I—I’m not coming with you!” she strongly refused.
Seeing his true colors, there was no way she’s going to let herself fall in the hands of the cruel Alpha once again. He might actually kill her this time, especially after seeing her with another man. She knows how ruthless he can become.
Aiden’s eyes landed on the trembling hands of her mate, grasping his arm.
He knew right then what he had to do.
“Cyrus…” he mentioned his name, dropping the formalities. The cruel Alpha clenched his jaw in response to the demand he was expecting. “Migumi is coming with me.”
Prince Aiden stood tall despite being surrounded by werewolves. His words were enough to radiate power and authority from everyone in the scene.
To anyone who hasn't seen his rage, Aiden’s words might have seemed ordinary, his tone calm and collected. But Alpha Cyrus knew better. He sensed the simmering rage beneath Aiden's composed exterior, a fury ready to erupt like a volcano. He wasn't going to take “No” as an answer.
Alpha Cyrus stared back at the royal prince’s eyes like he had forgotten the high position of the werewolf threatening to take his most valuable possession away.
“I said, I am taking my mate,” he declared, earning a chorus of gasps from the gathered werewolves.
(Migumi's POV)I hid myself behind the stranger as the pack of werewolves chasing after me emerged from the shadows. Their eyes were glowing red and filled with malice as they slowly surrounded us in a perfect circle. But to my surprise, they didn't attack. Instead, they halted at the edge of the clearing, growling low in their throats, even Alpha Cyrus who soon followed didn't dare to come near. It's almost as if there's an invisible circle that hinders them from attacking us completely.Confusion knotted my brow as I pressed myself closer to the stranger. Why aren't they attacking? There's only two of us against twenty of them. They are highly trained warriors, they could easily rip us if they wanted to.I glanced up at the stranger, searching for an answer. There wasn't the slightest hint of fear on his face. He's just standing tall and strong in front like a hard wall ready to shield me. His eyes were fixed to the snarling werewolves around us. How can he stay calm in this kind of
(Aiden’s POV)“Migumi,” I breathed, stepping closer. My heart clenched when she took a step back. “You don't mean that, do you? You're not actually rejecting me.”I gazed into her eyes, searching for any hint of uncertainty, but found only sorrow mirrored back at me. The words she spoke felt like a thousand knives stabbing my heart, yet I couldn't shake the feeling that her actions don't match her words. I know that she longs for as much as I long for her. But how can she easily utter those words of rejection like it meant nothing for her?She remained silent, making me more frustrated. My wolf, a silent presence beside me, echoed his frustration.‘We can't accept her rejection! She is our mate. We’ve searched for her for so long. We can't let her slip away right now!’I know, wolf, but you have to help me. How can I convince our mate if she wants to go with them? She’s pushing us away. She doesn't want us.‘She wants us.’Then why….“Y—You are a royal prince, Your Highness. And I… I
(Migumi’s POV)I woke up to the gentle scent of fresh flowers and the soft hum of the birds filtering through the window. Blinking against the morning light, I scanned my eyes around the unfamiliar room. With furrowed brows, I sat up, trying to recall how I ended up in this luxurious bed. I had never been here before; that much was certain. The last thing I remember is dreaming about being taken away by the royal werewolf prince. I can still smell his scent, his gentle deep voice, his ocean blue eyes that is comforting and—“You're awake.”I winced when a man suddenly popped out of nowhere. In his hand is a tray laden with a delicate breakfast. He set down the tray on the bedside table with a gentle smile. It’s…I—It’s the werewolf prince!“Good morning, Migumi. I thought you might be hungry. Do you like warm pastries and tea for breakfast?” he asked with a handsome smile on his face.Am I still dreaming? Why is the werewolf prince still here? Did I die? Am I dead?!Prince Aiden arche
(Migumi’s POV)The car came to a halt in front of a charming lodging, a rustic yet luxuriously decorated inn that exuded an air of warmth and comfort to my anxious heart. Aiden immediately got out of the car to carry my unconscious friend inside.I followed them silently, ignoring the piercing pain in my stomach. It seemed like my bandages had unraveled because of the tension back there earlier. As I trail behind them, I couldn't help but notice the marvelous attention to detail in the interior. From the soft cushions on the cabriole chairs to the soft glow of the warm lights that bathed the entire room with golden hue. It felt like a sanctuary in the middle of a chaotic world. My heart flattered in awe as I slowly realized that both of us had been saved.Tara and I made it.Prince Aiden guided me to the cozy corridors and the elegant room. I smiled faintly as I scanned my eyes to the different artworks plastered on the walls. You can tell just by looking at the place alone that it is
(Aiden’s POV).I stood frozen in the middle of the living room, the echo of Migumi’s hurried footsteps fading into my ears. I stared at the spot where she had disappeared from with a hint of confusion and disappointment.Deep inside, I knew that her sudden retreat wasn't a rejection but a reflection of her own fear and uncertainties. I understand that it's hard to trust again after what she's been through.‘Why the hell are you just standing there?!’My wolf, Speed, blurted inside my head. I emotionlessly diverted my eyes away from the main staircase.“We shouldn't force her…” I briefly replied, earning a silent groan from my wolf. I could almost feel him struggling to take control of my body but he could never do that unless I granted him the permission to do so.It’s understandable that my wolf wants to immediately complete the bonding process with Migumi. After all, we have waited for so long. But we can't just force ourselves to her. She’s my mate and I respect her.Guilt hacked i
(Migumi’s POV)In the soft glow of the young daylight, I sat perched on the edge of my bed, staring at the clock on the wall. I closed my eyes as soon as the hand pointed at eight, indicating the time I have wasted sorting my thoughts.I have been awake since four o'clock. I didn't want to disturb anyone, so I just stayed still in my spot, not wanting to call Nora. Besides, I needed time alone. All I could think about the moment I opened my eyes was what's going to happen to me next? The royal werewolf prince is kind enough to accommodate me in his place, but I know that I can't stay here for long. It’s only a matter of time before people start calling him out.I don't want to trouble the prince. He’s too kind to receive such backlash from his subjects.I have to—My thoughts were quickly interrupted when the door suddenly opened and a tall figure came inside carrying a tray laden once again. The warm, buttery, and sweet scent of the freshly cooked pancakes wafted through the air, dis
(Migumi’s POV)Seeing the tear-streak faces of the young civilian werewolves made my heart clenched in pain. Their soft cries were like knives stabbing my chest. I tried to maintain the reassuring smile on my face, but my tears betrayed me.I wanted to be a pillar of strength for them. These children are already scared as it is.I have always known that Alpha Cyrus is evil, but I never imagined that he would stoop so low as to allow his soldiers hunt innocent and defenseless children. In the past, he used to use prisoners as prey to train his soldiers. He would make them chase after them like savages. If they managed to escape, then they are spared, but if caught, then Alpha Cyrus would be laughing at their severed heads. That cruel Alpha must have lost for resorting to using children for his wicked training methods. It’s a clear sign of his untreatable fucked up mind.“Please, help us, Luna Dianne. I can't run anymore,” one child begged, pulling my dress. My hand gently wiped the tea
(Migumi’s POV)Amidst the cloudy weather, we embarked on a journey across the town, our hearts heavy with hope for safety. I had to throw away some of my baggage, so that the four young werewolves could squeeze themselves at the back, while I sat here at the front seat with the Prince. He hasn't spoken a word since we left, but I know that inside his head is a million thoughts running at the same time.My guess is that we have been traveling for about three hours now. It’s almost lunch time, and I know that the pups are already starving at the backseat. If only I had brought some snacks to feed them.“Only two minutes from here is a charming bakeshop. We can stop by to have some of their fresh bread and hot drinks,” Prince Aiden suddenly said as if he could read my mind. I was just thinking about telling him that. “Are you a fan of bread?” he asked.“Yesss!!!”The children chimed in unison, making me chuckle.I guess that's where he bought the croissant he got me last week. It tasted
