Kathleen was shaken to her core upon hearing all that. She exclaimed, "Hendrix, I underestimated you! I didn't realize you were secretly monitoring me from the beginning."

"Save your breath. If you don't pay me the 500 thousand dollars, I won't sign the divorce papers. And I doubt Gordon would want to see you get dragged into a lawsuit." I stood my ground.

"You're despicable," Kathleen spat at me.

Right away, she transferred the 500 thousand dollars back to me. I signed the divorce agreement without hesitation. After all, I could no longer bear to live with Kathleen.

After I signed, Kathleen scoffed and exclaimed, "You'll regret treating me like this. Just wait until you get fired from the company."

In truth, I had long lost interest in working for the company. If they fired me, so be it. I had a lot of connections, so I wasn't afraid of losing the job.
