Upon getting back to the cabin at the middle of the clearing in the depths of the wood at nighttime, Darren parked the motorbike near the porch and waited for Kyley to hop down first.

Ever since they left the city, Kyley's mood had remained gloomy and sad.

Darren had no idea what to do to change this as he couldn't tell just why Kyley was like this.

One thing he knew, however, was that this was due to the things that had happened in the city. The incident with those goons and most especially, Jason!

Darren could only blame himself for all of this as taking her to the city was only a huge waste. In the end, Kyley didn't stay in the city and had only returned with him after having gone through several traumatic experiences.

If he knew, Darren wouldn't have taken her to the city of Portico. Darren regretted this.

However, how could he know this, when they had different things in mind before?

The plan was to drop Kyley off as it had been her request ever since she woke up in his bed. K
