A step closer

Paige was scared by the fact that she could be attacked anytime, and daring to sleep was like being invigilant amidst a vast area of danger. Paige had her eyes constantly looking at the distant bushes, as though scared that a monster would emerge from them anytime soon.

However, her dull eyes were circled with dark eye bags. She needed to sleep, and her body voluntarily shut down. But every time her eyes shut close in slumber, she would quickly open them to look with an alerted expression at every small rustle in the surrounding, uncertain if it wasn't the rabid bloodhound watching her.

Hence, she had been suffering a streak of insomnia for several nights now.

One thing about knowing about the supernatural world is that the possibility of something being non-existent greatly reduced. And the fear of strange monsters existing became undoubtedly true.
