It wasn't easy tracking down the maid that was in the hospital ward with me that day. It had been so long ago and I doubted she still worked with Javon.

Thankfully, I had Evan who used to be his master of staff.

“Evan, do you remember the day my baby died?”

Obviously shocked about where this conversation was coming from, he turned around and looked at me with wide eyes.

“Yes ma'am. I remember.”

“Do you remember seeing any maid in the hospital with me that day?”

He came down from the ladder he had used to hang Juan's picture on my wall.

“A maid? You mean from the old house?”

I nodded.

“No, I don't. Why do you ask?”

I showed him a seat and sat opposite him.

“There was a maid there and I'm very sure she worked at the house. She smelled so familiar.”

He was silent for a moment.

“Okay, then. I can help you check for her. Did you see her face?”
