Chapter 2: Last Resort

2024-10-29 19:42:56This can’t be happening now, how can it happen with me? This is Eric, oh my! I think I am having anxiety. I shouldn’t get caught up no matter what. What to do, right there’s restroom. I better go there and hide myself till the ceremony gets over.
“Hey, wait. Where are you? Ceremony about to begin.” Ash tried to stop me but I excused myself.
Why I am feeling nausea all of a sudden, I think my head’s getting heavy. Oh thank God, I somehow managed to reach the restroom. I better doze off here for a couple of minutes. Oh wait, I am about to fall!
That feels comfortable, who put the pillow in here? Who cares, I feel comfy.
“It’s not a pillow.” A heavy voice was heard.
“Shut up, it’s a pillow and it’s my pillow so go away.” I wondered whose voice it was.
“Again, it’s not a pillow.” I got irritated and opened my eyes.
I started blabbering before I took a glimpse of the person I was talking with, “Just let me sleep before I go nuts, will you?”
He had a plain face while I was acting kiddish in front of him. Oh my God! He looks good. Just look at his athletic physique, wow! His forearms are something, look at the veins running through his forearms, am I getting seduced?
He prickled me with his fingertip, “Hey, that’s not good manner.”
I think I annoyed him, “Oh really! And sleeping on strangers' laps for the past twenty minutes is called good manners?”
Oh wai! What have I done? Ari, did you just sleep off on his thighs? I am going nuts, how to get rid of this situation now? Okay, I need to act cool.
“Just stop lying and most importantly what the hell are you doing in ladies loo?” It is strange, how come he is not replying? Maybe I caught him up. Hm, I am safe now.
“Ouch!”
“Hey, why the hell are you dragging me from my collar? You have no respect for a woman.” He dragged me right outside the washroom where it was mentioned in the bold letters ‘GENTS’.
I was busted, how the hell did I even get into this situation? This can’t be happening, this anxiety took all over my body again. This is not a good sign. My jaws were wide open when I saw the indicator sign of the washroom.
I am in gent’s loo, I am dead meat for sure, how the hell did I end up being here? The moment the brunette guy showed me the sign I didn’t have any words to express how apologetic I was at the moment but this man was something, he didn’t even let me apologise.
Before I could apologise to him, he simply left when he noticed that I realized my mistake. Oh, I almost forgot why I went to the washroom in the first place. I just can’t attend the wedding ceremony, I can’t be busted twice.
Areana, you can do it, just lift up your evening gown, cross the hall like a ghost and then move right through the glass door. Yes you can do it. What about Ash? Forget her Ari, you just gotta do it.
I pulled the flares of the blush pink bridesmaids gown which I was forced to wear, all thanks to Ash. On the count of 1, 2, 3…yes keep running just don't’ look up no matter what, just keep running.
You idiot, if you can’t look up then at least open your eyes and see where you are headed exactly, oh no, wait wait before I bump into him.
After opening my eyes a bit while I was still looking on the floor, I think I am right in the middle of the hall. This can’t be happening now, if Eric sees me, that’s a dead end. I just can’t give up like this.
I started whispering in the ears of the man who was holding me from my waist, wait he is holding me from my waist, what a jerk.
“I can hear you,” he seemed annoyed.
“I think I heard your voice before,” I was contemplating.
“Yes, you have, the guy in the washroom,” I looked up to confirm and it was him again.
Though I wanted to get rid of him but couldn’t. I wanted to use him as he is my last resort for tonight.
“Please, please, please, just take me out of this mansion while hiding my face. I just can’t be seen, I promise I will do whatever you say. Just take me out of here, please,” I kept on pleading until he gave me any response.
“Would you do anything?” He enquired.
“Yes, just take me out,” he grabbed me hard with his left hand and removed my hair band with his right hand covering my entire face. He then pressed my face on his chest so that no one would get a glimpse of mine.
I could feel his broad shoulders, I must say he worked out. I could feel his heartbeat, his breath echoing in my ear but why does it feel good? He got really good skin. Look at his skin tone, it’s white, very shiny.
For a moment, I wasn’t able to control my heartbeat, God! It is still thumping hard. I think I need to come to my senses before I mess up again. In a few seconds, we were out of the mansion.
“Your deal is done,” he helped me to stand up properly.
Before I could say anything his car arrived, “Now, it’s my chance.”
I looked at him suddenly, “What?”
“Didn’t you just say right now, you would do anything? So hope on.” I guess either I could go and stay low for tonight or I had an option to do something which I never did, let’s see what he had in his cup for me.
Without wasting further time, I went inside his car and he took me from there in a wink.
