Jared woke up with a throbbing headache. He touched his head and he realized that he was in his human form. He remembered wrestling with whatever beast was in his basement and the beast flying away with him. He had done a lot of damage to it before Jared eventually fell off its back but that was all he could remember. It was like the rest of what happened had gone missing from his memories. He looked around and saw Xavier tied to a chair. He had so many questions. “Xavi!” Jared called out. “Oh, that would be of no use. He can’t hear you. His mind his very far from his body right now” Doris said as she walked out from the shadows and walked up to him. “Let him go!” Jared screamed at her. “And why would I do that? You don’t still see it, do you? You are in no position to make demands or give orders. You have lost this war, Jared. Give us what we want and he would walk out of here, alive. If you stand against us, I can’t guarantee anybody walking out of here alive. The choice is your
“I am here. I am not going to leave you or Xavier here so that you can be slaughtered. She has a reason for keeping the both of you here, alive. If she gets back here, she is coming to finish up what she has already started. My sister and Liam would make sure that Doris doesn’t get to Alice’s body. I am going to make sure that she doesn’t have a backup spell that she can cast just in case her first plan does not pull through” Laura said to him. “You need to listen to me. She has this new pet. It is some sort of creature that she managed to pull out of its cage in the ancestral world and that beast has a very nice way of carrying out all of her orders. Your sister and Liam do not stand a chance against that beast. You need to go back to the house so that you can help them” he said back to her. “Look, I just came back from the dead, thanks to my sister. You have no idea about what it means to be dead, how it feels like to be dead. I am not going to face Doris and I need you to trust m
Liam looked at her, not sure of what decision to make. There was no way they were getting out of this alive and he knew this. He said a quiet prater to the moon goddess if she was listening and he looked at Louis. He saw that she was staring at him, waiting for a response. “Your major focus should be on my sister and my wife. Make sure that they wake up. We need them, whether we are willing to admit it or not. Having them here would definitely even the playing field. That should be your only concern right now” he said to her. “What happens to Doris then?” she asked him. “Let me worry about her. I would take care of her but no matter what happens, make sure that she doesn’t get to Alice. She must not get to her” Liam said to her. She looked at him and she could see the fear in his eyes but she knew that he was right and that was the only way. She had been working on a way to reverse the spell or at least make a potion to counter it. She needed to act fast, she needed to work fast.
She opened her eyes and turned to look at Alice, still laying lifeless on the floor. Her heart sank. She closed her eyes, trying to quiet the world around her and retrace her steps but that was a mistake because immediately she closed her eyes, she felt her presence. Zoe, she had come along with her. Louis walked up to Alice and touched her. Her body felt cold and she turned around to look at Liam who was staring at her. “Where is Alice? Why didn’t you bring her back?” Liam asked her. “I don’t know what happened, she should be back by now. I found her, I traded my freedom for her soul. She should have come back with me!” Louis said to him, confused as ever. The front door flung opened and they both gasped. Doris stood in front of them and Louis stood up. She waved her hand in the air and that sent Doris flying across the hall way. “The boundary spell is down. I don’t know how she managed to pull it down but this is our fight now. I would take care of her. You would get Alice and r
“Xavier!!” she called out to him. He was as irresponsive as the first three times she had called out to him. Until he heard her or recognized her presence, he wasn’t going to be able to see her or feel her. She needed a way to get to him and she needed to do it fast. She could feel the rumbling of whatever universe they were in. it was coming down. The realm was closing in on them and they were about to be stuck in it forever. “He cannot hear you or see you. I think you should use your magic to pull him out of there” she heard Zoe say. “That would fracture his mind! I wouldn’t do that” she said to her. “Tick tock. Time wait s for no wolf, or no witch in this case. What do you want to do? Stay stuck here forever? You can’t do that! You need to get us out of here before the place comes down on us” Zoe said to her. “Xavi, I know you can hear me. I know that you are still in there. I need you to focus, I need you to look at me. I need to get you out of here. Whatever life you are liv
Laura looked at Jared and she could see the last piece of hope and faith he had in his eyes. He needed her back and she knew this too. She knew that there was no way he was going to win this without her by his side. She said a silent but quick prayer to the moon goddess, asking for success this was her home and she was going to be devastated if she has to let it go. She started her spell and dropped on the floor. Jared was going to step into the circle when Liam stopped him. “No, trust her. She knows what she is doing. I trust her and you should too” he said to her. Jared looked at him and he nodded at him. He had no choice. They had tried too many different ways to get her back and if this didn’t work, if Laura couldn’t get her back then nobody could. If this didn’t work, he was going to ask that a witch embalm her body and preserve it so that he could wander around until he found somebody that could bring her back. He wasn’t going to give up on her and he wasn’t going to stop unti
“That wouldn’t be necessary. I was always here, camouflaged with the dark for a reason. We need to get you out of here” Laura said, walking out of one of the dark corners of the place. “How is this even possible?” Alice asked her. “We don’t have time to explain but when we do, I promise that I will explain to you at length but right now, we need to focus on the important questions like why the hell did you not try to make a deal to reach out to the outside world so that we can bring you home?” Laura asked her. “Because you can’t bring me home. Louis killing me for Layla was something that Doris saw happening. I don’t know how she did but she foresaw it and she tied me here using the blood that she got from me and my unborn baby. This entire place is created to keep me captive. There is no going home of for me. This is home now so just quit trying to bring me back. It is totally hopeless” she said to them. “That is insane. You don’t deserve this. This is not how your story is suppo
“Well, I guess we just have to hope and pray that she wins this. We have been through so much just to die in the end” Liam said to them. “I don’t care about what you say. Alice knows and understands what is at stake and she knows better than to let Doris win this. Besides, it is the prophecy” Jared said to them. “Prophecies can change. The real question is this. Can she do what is necessary make sure that the prophecy comes to pass?” Liam asked him. “Now is the wrong time to be doubting the abilities of someone that killed herself just so you can get your wife back! She would do what she needs to be done. You are in no position to question her abilities and her capabilities. There would be consequences of that action. That, I can promise you” Jared said to him, his eyes glowing. “Alright, why don’t we all calm down?” Louis said as she walked quietly into the room. “Louis!” Laura exclaimed. “I know, I am just as surprised to be alive as much as you are but we do not have time.
