WICKED SEDUCTION CHAPTER 35

The majority of the female guests were taken aback by the edginess of my wedding dress, but the majority of the male attendees were drawn to my cleavages. I shook my head in surprise when I realised that even married guys were staring.

When a marching song began to play in the background, my father appeared behind me, and the two of us went together toward the red carpet that had been spread out on the ground. Over the years, he practiced hypocrisy, and he successfully convinced everyone that we were on good terms.

“You should get an award for being the finest actor in the world, Daddy,” I said with my teeth gritted, and when I turned to look at him, he grinned at me.

“It will be over soon,” he whispered back as if his statement would make a difference.

I was so preoccupied with my predicament that I completely missed the presence of the guy waiting for me at the altar. I looked around for my groom, but I couldn’t seem to locate him anywhere. “Can you tell me where Robert is?”

“There,” he said, pointing to a guy, and I furrowed my brows in astonishment as he said it.

He looked so dashing in his suit, but I knew better that looks could be deceiving. He may look good on the outside, but his hygiene was a bit problematic. After the wedding, I may have to demand to live in a separate house, away from him.

A sigh escaped from my lips when I turned around and checked if Lee was watching from a distance. Silently, I was hoping he would show up and save me from getting married to another man. When I looked at Robert again, I was surprised to see his eyes full of sorrow. The sadness looked genuine, but I reminded myself that he always wanted to proceed with the wedding.

“Finally,” he said, but I was perplexed by his one-word declaration.

“Stop acting like you don’t want to get married to me,” I scolded him.

“I am not acting, Selena,” he replied.

“Oh really? Then let’s not do it,” I proposed, but as usual, he shook his head to disagree. “Robert, for the last time, please hear me out. We are going to be unhappy for the rest of our lives!” While I waited for him to respond, I just noticed that he smelled good. I narrowed my eyes at him, and he probably had an idea of what was going on inside my head because he smiled. “Did you clean yourself now because of the wedding?”

“No,” he replied with a single word.

I was about to ask him a follow-up question when I heard the commotion among the guest. I assumed something horrible was about to happen, and my eyes immediately searched for my father in case there was an assassination attempt to silence him forever. I waited for nothing because it was a group of people who caused it!

“They’re here,” Robert said, and before I could stop him, he left me alone to meet the newcomers, and my eyes widened when I recognized the man in an article of simple clothing.

Suddenly, I stood frozen when I saw Katherine Hamilton emerging from a white van in a red gown, and beside her was Liam Salcedo, who looked dashing in a suit identical to Robert’s outfit. I got even more confused when Liam’s parents showed up with Richard Vera. Ethan and Lance also arrived, and their unannounced arrival shocked every guest.

“Selena!”

Someone called my name, and there’s no way I wouldn’t recognise his voice. Suddenly, I felt like crying because he decided to show up on my wedding day. I tried so hard not to look at him because I didn’t want to embarrass Robert’s family, and I also didn’t wish Katherine to see me while suffering.

Where’s Robert?

I searched the crowd for my groom, but he was nowhere to be found. I was left alone, and then he suddenly approached me. When he tried to hold my hand, I immediately distanced myself from him because I didn’t want to hurt another woman watching from a distance.

“Selena, will you marry me?”

When he proposed marriage on my wedding day, I was utterly stunned and couldn’t move from where I was standing. I became speechless! When I looked into his eyes, I could no longer prevent my tears from falling. Seeing him again reminded me of our happy moments, and it was painful for me. I was hurting inside, but I couldn’t express it very well. I just looked at him and let my tears flow freely.

“Selena…,” he whispered my name.

“P-please don’t do this, Lee,” I begged him. “Please don’t hurt me again and leave us alone!”

“Selena, please listen! I love you. I have always loved you,” he said.

“What about Katherine? Don’t you feel bad about her?” I asked, and he couldn’t respond to my inquiry. Katherine must have probably heard us because she sauntered toward us. When she came closer, I expected that she would create a disturbing scene. I was prepared to get a slap, but what she did next was unbelievable! The one and only Katherine Hamilton kneeled in front of me and apologised!

“I am sorry, Selena, for hurting you,” she said.

I helped Katherine to stand up because it was embarrassing to see her kneeling in front of me. “Both of you, please, just leave!” I implored for their kindness to leave me alone in peace.

“Do you think we can be friends again, Selena?” Katherine asked, and I had no idea how to answer her inquiry.

“Well, I don’t think so,” I replied with the truth.

“Even if I will give him back to you?”

“He’s a not toy!” I screamed at Katherine and some of the guests, especially Katherine’s companion, were alarmed. “He’s not an object that you can take and return once you’re done using it!”

“Come on, Selena. Don’t be so dramatic over this. I made a mistake about Liam, and Daddy is furious. He will disown me if you can’t forgive me now,” she explained.

“As always, you are selfish, Katherine, but what makes you think I will take him back?”
