The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore were heard amidst the clanking of cutleries against the plates. Soft music was played in the background as everyone chattered as they ate.

Valerie looked nervous as she sat in between Maria and Gideon, but Alan was just seated opposite her.

She called Mayté's nanny earlier to take her to bed because Mayté said was sleepy and that was why she wasn't present at the dinner table.

Valerie watched as everyone talked with each other, Maria and her girlfriend, Gideon and his sisters were arguing about politics, and it was just her and Alan who weren't engaging in any discussion.
